Kept hearing about this restaurant, so I thought well this restaurant has been in Amherst for number of years and it would always smell so good from out in parking lot so that being said I finally thought give it a try
Was the worse experience ever BIG disappointment
Only one cook and one employee taking orders and while after and hour of ordering and went back to pick up food while waiting another good 2o minutes in line observing the 2 employees
Could see the cook in the kitchen with sweating drench tshirt and long greasy hair with no hairnet chopping up ribs and cooking and the employee waiting in customers exchanging money then running in the kitchen not washing hands gathering up the trays of food and then coming back around the counter to serve the customers their takeout food
Not very. Professional looking at all
Then to top it all off after getting food
Opening it up to find it burnt and black and hard was very disappointing will not be returning

I ordered the ribs with two sides while I was in town for work without realizing that it was Valentine’s Day. There were two young guys working alone in a very busy restaurant. My order wasn’t ready when I arrived but it wasn’t long before it was. The food I received was excellent and despite them being slammed, everything was cooked perfectly and very fresh. I will be back!

Absolutely delicious brisket sandwich I recommend the mac and cheese and the beans as a side.Great customer service we noticed that our beans were cold we weren't going to say anything cuz they were still delicious and a couple minutes later the owner came out and gave us some hot beans and we didn't even ask for them.Every time I'm in this area I'm coming here to eat thanks guys great job

Had the special of the week and it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. Staff was great and checked on us a couple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Looking forward to visiting again

Great reviews, so we knew we had to try it out.What can I say but, amazing! I had the Burger of the Week which was a smoked half pound ground beef, pork and veal patty with many other tasty ingredients, sitting on top of a bed of smoked brisket, and topped with smoked bacon and a homemade aioli sauce!You could see the smoke ring on the burger and brisket. The brisket, did I mention the brisket?! Melt in your mouth, wonderful flavour, so good.Had cornbread as a side, was awesome as well but barely had any room after than amazing burger!All of that plus a can of pop for the same price as a double quarter pounder BLT combo, and it's much better of a product, more flavour, and more of it.These guys are an amazing value! Thanks for the awesome meal!
Very good burger, with that authentically SLIGHTLY toasted bun, and generous portions - that's great 7oz burger there. And OH MY GOODNESS the fries. I got myself the mashed potatoes, but my wife ordered fries and I will be getting some of those every time I'm nearby. Great prices, friendly service, nice place to sit and eat a meal. I'll be back for sure.

Took my daughter there recently and ordered a pulled chicken sandwich but was served a deep fried chicken part in a bun. The side of fries was dry and stale like they had been around all day. It was 5 pm and we were the only ones there. The staff both times I have been there have been incredibly rude. Don’t recommend

This was such a good restaurant, very cozy and yummy food. Got a pulled pork poutine and my daughter got the Mac and cheese and husband got the chicken poutine, was so delicious! Was told to do the brisket next time, and will definitely do that.

Our Backyard BBQ lets the food speak for itself. The restaurant is simple but the food is awesome. There are only picnic tables available in the restaurant adding to its authentic backyard BBQ experience!The portions are large. You most definitely get a lot for your money.We drove from Sackville, NB to Amherst, NS to try this restaurant ~ It was well worth changing provinces to have dinner.The ribs are delicious and so is the corn bread, both are a must try!
