The hot lobster sandwich was overpriced and underwhelming. It was very small pieces of toast with very little lobster in it and even less on top. The creamed lobster sauce was more like milk and butter served with a bowl of mashed potatoes. The milk sauce soaked in the bread and made it a wet mush. These wasn't any vegetables, coleslaw or even garnishes on either bowl. For $42.00 very disappointing !My wife had the "Award Winning" Lobster roll with fries. It was on a hot dog bun ,she was expecting a nice brioche roll or something a bit fancier then a hotdog bun for the price. She said the lobster roll tasted good ,with lots of lobster in it ,there was also a small serving of fring with hers for around $32.00 which in my opinion was overpriced for what she got.Being the so called Lobster Capital of Canada ,this meal with 2 peices of cake was $109.It was a huge disappointment to say the least !!!Go to Yarmouth and get your monies worth people !I don't mind spending the money on any meal if it's worth it.Do better Captain Kat's Lobster Shack

Simple lobster restaurant in a small town. Lobster rolls were very good. No refills on water even though there were only 2 other tables being used in the place. Cute seafaring decor inside. Located in a strip mall. Prices were a little higher than we saw online but overall a good experience.

The price was very high for the quality and quantity of food provided. My lunch was $34 and I left hungry. The meal was good but not great. The wait staff was fast and friendly but the kitchen was very slow.

Crazy expensive. $85 for lobster!?! We ate a wonderful lobster meal, with melted butter, side, and dessert in Halifax, a block off the harbour (Blue Nose) for $40. Two of us are an entire lobster each for less than half the price. Captain Kay didn’t even list ‘market price’- just flat $85 every day of the year. Disappointed that the Lobster Capital of Canada gouges tourists so shamelessly.

Don't let the hype of this restaurant fool you. They charge $85 for a 1.25 lb whole lobster. If you head a little north you can get a 2 lb for $75. ( if you want lobster get at least a 2 pounder ) The quality here is also suspect. I had the lobster chowder, which contained a few small pieces lof lobster, which tasted old - like weeks old and very chewy. The restaurant has promise if they focus on quality and reasonable prices. IMHO pass on this one.

Had fish and clams with fries. Very fresh and tasty. Very light batter as well. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed a little pricey.

Went for lunch on a Saturday around midday. Seated and our order was taken promptly. Got the fish cakes (with fries substituted for the side salad), and my partner got the lobster chowder. Both were excellent and seved hot. No dessert, but the good cup of coffee was a nice finish.

Had a mug of Captain’s lobster chowder and fishcakes served with green tomato chow. Both were excellent. The chowder was light and creamy with large chunks of sweet lobster. The cakes, sea-salty and delicious.

Too expensive. Good food and service but overrated. There are many nice places on the South Shore NS with similar food much cheaper.
