Boulangerie La Vendéenne, located just off the 103 in Blockhouse / Lunenburg, offers a delightful selection of pastries like the Chocolate Pepito, apricot loaf, Carrot Cake, and Cinnamon Swirls. The bakery is known for its excellent croissants, thick, rich cheesecake, and especially its delicious cinnamon swirls, which customers from afar have praised as the best they have ever eaten. The bakery is small but filled with mouthwatering baked goods, including sticky buns, sourdough bread, and other French and non-French treats. While it can get busy, the friendly and helpful service makes it a worth-while stop for those seeking tasty viennoise pastries and coffee. Visitors appreciate that the quality is high, and prices are reasonable, especially considering the deliciousness. The eat-in counter is available, but outdoor seating, like a shaded picnic table, could make the experience even better. The bakery also offers kid-friendly options, including pastries, cookies, drinks, take and bake pizzas, and garlic fingers. Customers often enjoy dishes like quiche, and many wish there was a larger deli section with more cheese, mini mustards, and mayo options for making sandwiches. Overall, Boulangerie La Vendéenne is a popular destination for both locals and travelers on road trips.
