We were 2 couples visiting the area. Staff at our motel suggested this restaurant and are we ever glad she did. I had the cup of seafood chowder and half a lobster sandwich. So did my sister-in-law.The sandwich was good but the chowder is amazing. My brother-in-law had the big bowl of chowder and devoured it in a minute. My husband really enjoyed his fish and chip.

I live in a fishing village. My grandfather was a fisherman. I've eaten seafood chowder my whole life. This was the best chowder I've ever had. So much seafood in it. Well done!! We will be back. Now, every time I order a seafood chowder, we rate it against The Waves chowder as far as taste and value. I can't wait to go back to Nova Scotia and do this all over again.

We were very excited to try this place after recently moving here, as we had heard good things. And although the food was decent, it was definitely overpriced. Scallops were overcooked. Wait time for food was over 45 mins for 2 meals, even though there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. We tipped the server well as she was friendly. But one of the staff members behind the counter stared at my wife the entire time she walked to the bathroom. And the entire time she walked back (our table was near the front door). Like they thought she was going to dine & dash or something. But we had already paid for our meal. Made her so uncomfortable she couldn't wait to get out of there. She didn't even finish her drink, she just grabbed her stuff & we left. If she wanted to be stared at at a restaurant we'd eat at a truck stop. Will not be going back ever again.

Where do I start? The waiter who seated us wasn’t very friendly and didn’t even offer to help with getting the highchairs for our children which is strange. It was an hour wait for our food, we watched three other tables that came after us… order, eat and leave. (With zero explanation on why our food was taking so long). We almost left, it was absolutely ridiculous. And got absolutely cold, miserable food 🤷‍♀️ 😞 Never again unfortunately.

I had the one piece fish and chips and I can honestly say it was the best battered fish I have had in years. Cooked to a crisp perfection. The three people with me also shared the same sentiment. Plenty of fries and the coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce only added to a fantastic meal. Well done Waves staff.

This is my favourite restaurant on the South Shore. The food is excellent and homey, and seems closest to real Atlantic Canadian cuisine. It's a relaxed place and the food takes a little time to come out but it's worth it.

Terrible experience … actually was sick for the next 3 days after eating this food - very slow service considering it was fairly quiet ….

35 minute wait for bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and they were burnt, 5 scallops for $17, been over an hour and still waiting for mains, not too busy either.

Can't really leave much of a review as you can't get breakfast because they do not open until 11am. Actually, this must be normal for Bridgewater as we couldn't find a place to serve breakfast in the mornings unless we wanted to go to a diner in a garage.
If you have food allergies, that will even make your search even harder. Why bother having a breakfast menu if you don't open until its almost lunch time?
Just curious on this one. We don't come back to our home town very often but, the way things are going back this way, our visits will be even fewer in the future!!
Good Luck everyone

Today I left a smaller tip as delivery of our order was quite delayed without explanation or apologies. Two groups that ordered after we did were served before us. Our order was not complicated - a special and simple fish dish. I didn't say anything or complain due to the proximity of patrons who would hear and be embarrassing to server. However food was high quality as usual when we drop by.
