The old lobster pound has been updated with a restaurant. The floor had a consider slope to it. We had to sit sideways on our chairs to avoid sliding off. The lobster roll is one of the best around. The onion rings were very good and plentiful. The scallops were great. The cold salads were a bit of a letdown. I am fairly certain they were from a bucket at a grocery store. They were not homemade like in the past.
This place is in the middle of nowhere and that’s what contributes to its charm. I had the large lobster supper. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The price on this meal was very reasonable and it was really cool to see the size of the live lobsters in the tanks prior to ordering.
I visit Halls Harbour Lobster Pound every time I'm in Nova Scotia! Lobster cannot get more fresh than this! I loved the location before their big renovation, but it is not surprising that they had to add a few more floors to accommodate all of their guests. Watching the tide come in while having dinner was magical. No wonder it's such a popular destination. Thank you!
