Big Leagues - Cole Harbour

We ordered simple scrambled eggs and some fish tacos. The eggs were way overcooked. Coleslaw on the tacos was brown. Server was somewhat pleasant but really don’t see to know what was going on when simple modifications were requested.

Really awesome atmosphere with all the sports tv and memorabilia. Kind of friendly staff and the beer is pretty good.

However, the food is really awful. The fries where (i’m lost for words here) disgusting and un-edible. The wrap wasn’t good either. Maybe the rest of the menu was better but not sure.

walk in there and the music is so damn loud from the four outdoor speakers the have for the live band that you can’t even think. wrote down our take out order for them and double checked it twice and still forgot a meal from our order that we paid for. we live 30mins away and we’re not impressed when we got home. would not recommend the cole harbour location

The lady who served us informed us the regular server was busy and she would be helping us.. it was around 6pn .on Tuesday night. From the moment I sat down the server seemed very ... under the influence. Sniffing and bug eyes.. staring right at my boobs.. said omg I love your boobs.. every time she cane to the table said oh my favorite boob table.. I laughed it off.. but in real it made me feel very uncomfortable. I was with my fiance and there was a table of pre teen ish .. 10 12 ish..beside us who after she said that was all looking as well .. like breaking their necks to get a look at my trying to have a nice night out with my fiance..

Very inappropriate.. will not be returning..

10 of us arrived from the airport too early for our air b n b. We hadn’t made a reservation as we didn’t know we were going to be going there. There was only around 6 or 8 people in the restaurant so basically empty. Server said sit where we want to. Then we never got served. When we asked. Said we should have made a reservation. Poor customer service. After around 15 mins or so we all got up and left. Server just waved at us in a rude way like see ya’! Good servers should have then asked us to come and sit and apologize and take our orders. Rather than just let us leave with a rude attitude.

Unfortunate that it was our first experience after arriving in Halifax!

Took my parents here as it was their choice for dinner as a Christmas gift. They have had so many good experiences here, so they wanted me to try as well.

Service was SO disappointing and was honestly the only downfall of the evening. It’s a Monday so I can understand that the restaurant wasn’t working at full load, but from the moment we entered our server was so inattentive. She stood at the hostess stand and just beckoned for us to find a table to the left, no big deal this is pretty standard pub interaction. She told us she would come check on us in a moment. Well, it took so long another server finally came by and asked if we needed a bill or something and we told her that we had been sitting waiting for our waitress (the only other waitress in the building). She brought us menus so we could at least start looking at food.

When our waitress finally decided she wanted to take our order, every interaction felt rushed, like she was overwhelmed or something but there was literally 4 other tables in her section. My mother’s salad came out with little dressing, and when we asked the waitress to come by so we could order more, she was all ready to hand us our bill without even half our meal finished.

My last straw was when she cleared our plates she again was forcing a bill on us when I told her I actually wanted another pint of beer. She took my order and ran off. Again, we sat there and waited until the other younger and more attentive waitress came back and asked if we were waiting on something. I told her I had ordered a beer but at this point I just wanted the bill since the other waitress even said our waitress walked off somewhere else. The attentive waitress waived my second pint and brought our bill.

I was reluctantly leaving a cash tip for the waitress and then expecting change (I heard the attentive waitress actually say to her that she cleared our table and another in her section so I know she was aware we were settling). After waiting for her and no sign of her checking in, I recounted my change, left a more deserving tip and left.

What was supposed to be a very special evening for my parents was rather lackluster. Unfortunately I don’t live here and my parents have expressed not wanting to return, so I can’t see this business making amends on this experience. It wasn’t the worst experience, the food was pretty good, and if we had the other waitress who was working it probably would have been phenomenal. As someone who’s worked this industry, I’d probably be looking at how my day staff are operating my business if I were this company.

Okay, food, too much furniture in the place.hard to maneuver around if you have to get to the bathroom, there will be obstacles, been near twice , don't think I'll be returning.

If anything ever happened in there , it will be a disaster trying to get out.

Worst experience ever order the clubhouse turkey was Sour. Wife had poutine that was that good other. Order appetizers got the appetizer with our meals.
