I discovered Birdies Bread & Co. today by chance and I’m so glad I did! It’s such a beautiful shop. I bought a loaf of bread, a pain au chocolat, and an almond croissant, everything was absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. The service was excellent as well. I’m not sure if they also serve drinks or coffee, but I’ll definitely be going back to find out! :)

Birdies is so great, all their baked good are amazing, it’s unfortunate that they are closed on Sunday’s and not open until 9 on other days, the only day we are able to go is Saturdays, and we live in the neighborhood! I hope they change their ours!

Best bakery in HRM. Almost all sourdough based. Pastries and bread; lots of variety. Almost all great! They mill their own flour! What more can be said? A nice bike along the water from Halifax — or a drive.

I buy a sourdough demi and a seedy sourdough... so For the first time today I had Birdie's multi-grain. OMG So good. Haven't tried the double chocolate black cherry sour dough but its here waiting to be sampled! So glad you are there... ! Wish I could pick up Birdies Bread in more places.
Birdies is THE BEST sourdough we’ve ever had. Due to some stomach issues, I can’t eat yeasted breads, so I’ve tried a lot of sourdough breads over the years. Our hands down favourite is Burdies. Their staff are great and their little shop is pleasant, carrying several other local food products and sometimes local flowers. 100% reco Birdies Bread.
