Food was tasty and hot.
Staff was lovely and took time with the senior who was with me.
Only complaint was it was loud for someone with hearing aids.

Good coffee, fairly average independent coffee shop. A bit cramped but service was good.

Lovely location and patio. Had the grilled cheese with bacon and it was amazing! Nice coffee and fresh brewed.

Will be back again!

Food and service are great. However, the atmosphere is now seriously affected by a super strong deodorizer recently installed in the washrooms, possibly installed by the building owner, not the Cottage Cafe. Regardless, it is a terrible respiratory irritant! Hard to take even from inside a stall. You are forced to inhale it up close when you wash your hands because the deodorizer is face-level on the wall right beside the sink. You come out of there with your hair and clothing reeking of that deodorizer. My car smelled like it when I got home.

What a wonderful café. Ambiance and atmosphere is wonderful with the best view of Lake Banook.

Date square was more of an apple square (no dates)
Scone was dry and not fresh

Neat little Cafe. Here on a Saturday afternoon. The sun is shining in, but it is still quite comfortable and pleasant. Got a breakfast sandwich at 3 PM, which is always a plus.

I read through a few negative reviews and do not understand them. I go out of my way to visit this spot. Their breakfast sandwhich is one of the best in the city; my iced lattes are perfect every time. The staff has been lovely every time. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting.

These are the most PROPER fish cakes I’ve had for ages. Amazing, delicious.

A cute spot to stop, located perfectly for a nice walk by Lake Banook. The breakfast sandwich is delicious, as are the scones and drinks! Well worth stopping by!

Enjoyed my breakfast sandwich on a big life bun! Like it was 20011. The butterscotch roll was delicious!

This charming little cafe is a delightful find near home. The bonus of having great views of the lake makes it even more special. However, during the summer months, the outdoor patio can get quite crowded, and the parking lot can fill up quickly, especially if there’s an event happening in the area - so plan accordingly.

The rustic atmosphere and the delicious food make it a must-visit. I highly recommend it.

My only suggestion would be to add a couple more sandwich options to the menu. The breaky sandwich is fantastic, though!

Great coffee, treats and vibe. Overlooking lake banook and banook shores!

Excellent breakfast sandwich if a bit expensive, coffee was quite good and service was kind and fast. The place was nicely decorated but very noisy.

Great homey vibe. Awesome grilled cheese.
