Rico, Veerpal and Eduarda are STELLAR. Every time I come in, it feels like coming home. Drinks are stellar, food is HEAVENLY — the Caesar alone will convert you to a salad person. Cannot say enough lovely things. Have been coming here for about a year and will keep coming back.

This morning my husband and I went to District 5 for brunch.
I got the avocado toast, mark got the district 5 big breakfast.
I will start off by saying the reason I went there for brunch is because I’ve been there numerous times for supper and always loved the food. It has always been phenomenal.
When we first sat down, we were handed menus, and a glass of ice water. When the waitress came over to ask what we wanted to order, we told her what we wanted. She did not ask if we wanted coffee or anything other than water, so we had to ask for coffee. (In my experience at other places, the waitress or waiter has always asked if we would like a drink other than water). She came over with 1 full cup of coffee and one 1/2 cup of coffee. She said that there was more coffee brewing, so she would top up the other cup once the coffee was done. The cream and milk were warm, so not refrigerated and the coffee was cold. I noticed there was only 1 pack of sugar on the table, so I asked for sugar (since there is two of us having coffee) to which she pointed out that there was already sugar on the table (weird, cause there is two of us), after I said yes, but we need more, she brought over 2 more packs of sugar.
They really missed the mark on most of the food. The avocado toast was amazing. So delicious. However, the potatoes were undercooked. Still raw in the middle. My husband’s bacon was overcooked, almost burnt.
The waitress came over to ask how everything was, and I told her the truth and mentioned what was wrong with the food. My husband had 2 bites of the bacon he was given and didn’t finish the rest.. I had 1 bite of the potatoes and didn’t touch anymore.
I asked for my bill, and she had stated that she gave us a 10% discount for the problems…. This equated to $2.10…… I honestly feel like it was a bit of an insult.
I will not return for brunch any time soon. I was very disappointed with the whole experience.

Loved the restaurant and food but will not go there again in the winter. It was so cold in there. We talked to the waitress about it and she said it was always cold in here. They had a little portable heat in the room that sent very little heat out.
There are not enough great things to say about District 5 Bar & Grill. From the Chef - Rico, the bar staff and the management, this place is The Place to go in HRM. The food is absolutely amazing. Taste buds will delight! Chef Rico has a talent many lack that is a gastronomic delight.

Went there for brunch today. Had to ask for my juice 2 times, water took 3 times. I got eggs Benny with barely any sauce on it, asked for more and got a little paper bowl with cold sauce. Server was nice but slow and forgetful. Friends food was also just okay and she had to get up and go to the bar to ask for a coffee refill and still it took another 10 mins to come. Bummer, it could be a cool place but it's currently just meh food and bad service. Boss was too busy chatting at the bar to notice unhappy customers.

This place is wonderful... Delicious food, great customer service, warm and cozy atmosphere and to top it all off a relaxing enjoyable comedy night.
Great place, good vibe and the food is outstanding. Chef Rico made me the best mussels that I've ever had last night. Absolutly on point...highly recommend.
Wing night best in Dartmouth & those fries with the Garlic sauce are the best I've ever tasted -TRULY !!!

Had the shrimp tempura special was excellent. Juicy plump shrimp in a light tempura with delicate spice blend. Hopefully this makes its way to the menu.
Their Brussels sprout dish is always a winner with the creamy aioli and parm sauce. Perfect for a winter day comfort.

Seafood chowder (bowl) was great. Good flavour, lots of fish. Burger and fries was great. Loved the hand cut and seasoned fries. Hefty plate of pan fried haddock, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. All very good. Two thumbs up.
