Just went last evening for the first time with my partner for my birthday, and WOW. The service and the atmosphere were incredible, but the food quality and presentation was just out of this world. I've been thinking about it all morning. Doraku has totally changed my understanding of sushi, and what it can be.
I'm not usually that impressed by sushi. As an Ontarian, I'm used to visiting a strip mall to sit down for some rolls but I was excited to try some authentic Japanese style sushi next to an actual ocean. Needless to say, I was not disappointed! This tiny little shop is limited in seating but is very cute. It's one of the few restaurants where I'd actually prefer to sit at the bar. Fresh scrumptious sushi was expertly prepared and a real delight to eat, some of the best I’ve ever had. The place is small, so not many tables available, and reservations recommended, but I didn’t mind sitting at the bar.
