Very friendly service. Casual little spot at the bottom of an office building, so I imagine 75% of their customers come from there, with the rest from that area in Burnside. I tried it today (driving up on my lunch break from closer to downtown Dartmouth), and was impressed. Lots of free parking. Tried one of their Monday lunch specials of the chicken souvlaki to go. Two large chicken thighs seasoned and juicy. A large spoonful of tzatziki thrown atop some yellow, tasty rice. Homemade white bread roll must have a dollop of butter thrown into its center before it goes in the oven. I ate that first, without slicing it, and it was like I had sliced & buttered it, but I didn't. Reasonable portion size where it's not too much, but definitely filling. Lots of tables outside the cafe in the hallway of the building, for those who want to eat it right away. I'll be back to try more.
Friendly staff, great place for lunch. Appreciated the explanation of their offerings. Will be back.
Not terrible, but not great. The menu and specials sounded good enough to give it a try. I had the Polish Pork Schnitzel special. The Schnitzel was good, but the mashed potatoes and cucumber salad were comparative to hospital food. The dinner roll was slightly stale.
The soup selection sounds decent, so I might return to give one of them a shot.
I had a very pleasant experience today! Had a delicious Club Sandwich, one of the best looking sandwiches I may add! (I eat with my eyes) Very clean and friendly staff and did I mention great prices?? Well they have amazing prices actually!! Highly recommend!
I have gone there many times for the Chicken Cesar Wrap and they were always good. Lately they have not been as good. The portion size is much smaller to the point that all you taste is the pita not any salad/dressing which is odd because I get extra dressing. That also makes it dry when there is not much in the wrap. Another thing is, depending on who rings it in the price is always different. Some days it’s $10 & other days it $11.50. Just disappointing when it use to be so good :( going down hill now
Instant, friendly service, and delicious home-made food. Five stars, all the way. Absolutely recommend, will come back!
I have always been a fan of Janina’s cafe. Today I went and ordered a smoked meat sandwich. There was four thin, narrow slices of smoked meat on it. I actually couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t even taste the smoked meat. Normally a smoked meat sandwich contains a decent amount of meat. I was extremely disappointed. I will not go back for a sandwich again. I understand the prices of everything has gone up, but this sandwich was ridiculous:( I wish I had taken a picture but I didn’t:(
Delicious food and a fair price. I can’t see myself getting anything but the polish food especially the soups. Janina ferments her own salted pickles for the dill pickle soup and it’s so good
Thank you very much, I recommend it

Very sad BLT. Surprised because of all the great reviews. The BLT came with 3 half pieces of bacon, 1 slice of tomato and 1 peice of lettuce. I asked for more tomato and was charged .50 for 1 more slice. Don't bother. The good reviews must be from family and friends.

Ordered stir fry chicken for 13$ including taxes. And portion size is not very, there’s barely any chicken. Went there after checking the google reviews. But food is very average

My samosa was frozen rock solid after being warmed up. I found the samosa tasted like a Walmart brand. Pretty sure I got some mild form of food poisoning from the chicken salad sandwich. Slept for 14 hours and had a bad stomach for about 24 hours….and when I asked for fries she just told me it was cheaper without the fries lol, which I believe was her way of saying “we haven’t turned the fryer on yet”. I believe she even still charged me the same price. 10 dollars for a sandwich with coffee.
Always wanted to try Janina's after smelling the food when going into RBC and all I can say is WOW ! Decent prices, Friendly staff and fast service (in/out in 2 minutes). Tried the Penne and it was to die for and the rolls are amazing :)
