We stopped by Sosta Restaurant in Halifax for lunch during our stay at the Alt Hotel due to a long layover. The food was good overall, though a bit pricey for the portion sizes. We ordered the pizza, meatballs, chicken wings and iced tea for drinks, everything was flavorful and well prepared. What really stood out was the service; the lady who served us was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and made our experience much more enjoyable. A nice spot for a convenient meal, especially if you’re staying nearby.

The pizza was amazing and service was fast, and although not a big issue, the menu online is not up to date so I couldn't decide what to eat before arriving. Overall, it has a great atmosphere and great pizza, but I wouldn't get anything other than the pizza as the desserts were a bit disappointing.

I love this place.
A must go when going through Halifax.
Jason, the bartender/server is so calm and positive.
Great place to go when you have a flight delay!
I also had the pleasure of twice having Alana serve me.
The vibe in this place provided in part from the amazing staff is perfect for me.
Sincerely, Christina
The food is perfect for me too.

Horrible, got the pasta bake which is a main course at 24$ which only filled a quarter of the bowl I wouldn’t even pay 10$ for this amount and it was 24$! It came cold it tasted alright but was dried to the bottom of the dish as well. Finished it and still hungry. Very disappointed. Will never eat at this hotel again. The Sosta in Toronto is 1000% better.

We had hoped the food would be better but we left disappointed. The pizza was okay. The tomato soup was very thick and did not impress my partner. And the beef dip was a miss. Burned bun, dry meat and served with gravy, not au jus. I feel bad for the servers because they seem genuinely kind and attentive. But the food doesn’t measure up. Please find an experienced chef!!! We felt
as if a new cook was on the line. Not impressed. TBH, it was a waste of $75.

So we arrived hungry from a flight around 9 pm. We did not wanted to go far to have a have a bite on our way home.

After good experiences on other airports, we opted for SOSTA, the pizzeria inside ALT Hotel.

We were not disappointed at all. From the friendly server to the food.
Since it was later in the evening we onlynordered one starter, green salad, but the server had it split in two bowls. That salad was very good, delici0us.
For main we had a lumberjack pizza. That was a good choice as many styles can be a tad salty, the one was that not at all. The honey made it quite special.

Finally, we had desert. Our server came back apologizing that our first choice was no longer available, due to having been very earlier in the evening. So we took the layered ice-cream as replacement. OMG what a great decision that was. The desert was define.

SOSTA is a bit of a hidden gem for us. You can easily go here when you are hungry and passing by the airport. Easy to get here and very accommodating staff.

After dinner we decided to stay at ALT hotel.
Anjam at reception, who has a really adoring posh English accent despite not being from there, at took great care of us.

In the past, when we lived in Pictou county, we used ALT hotel frequently due to early departure or late arrival. These days we live in HRM, but last night has shown us, we should do it more often. It is just too comfortable and easy instead of wearing ourselves out after a long flight and late arrival.
We had a wonderful night of sleep and, after sleeping in, we left for home very relaxed.

I read the 1 star review about the donair pizza being messy, covered in cheese, soggy…etc. It sounded like my kind of pizza so of course I had to order it and it lived up to the review. Great pizza!
I never got our servers name but she was very good; friendly, attentive, and helpful with the selection of a gluten free option for my wife. Thankyou.

Visited from Toronto.

Overall good pizza restaurant located inside the Alt hotel. Has many options from sandwiches to pizza. Service is fast and great. However it is a tad pricey for what you get.

The pizza was highly disappointing. $51 for 2 pizzas that barely fed 2 people. We got the BBQ chicken and the Donair pizza. The bbq chicken was majority onions and had little to no cheese. Slabs of bbq sauce and barely any chicken. The donair pizza had wayyy too much cheese and fake donair meat. For $51 this was extremely disappointing and quite frustrating to say the least.
The crust was thin as paper. Tasty but way too thin.
As placing our order as well, we were hung up on 3 times before actually being able to place our order.
Will never be eating here again
