The 3-course dinner we had at Cabot Shores Bistro was delicious. It started with a hearty veggie soup followed by a delicious main course and ended with a rich tasting dessert. We also had breakfast at the bistro in the morning. Delicious eggs, cooked in our choice of style with sausage and fluffy pancakes! We truly enjoyed our meals and will be back in the future to try more!

The food at Cabot Shores Bistro was extremely memorable and delicious. After having spent days hiking and camping, there is nothing better than high-quality seafood. I would certainly stop here for a meal if you're in the area. The chef has incredible talent and I hope we shall return someday. I really cannot recommend them enough!

I had just arrived from PEI and checked Google Maps, which indicated that the restaurant would be open until 8:30 PM. When I called around 7:20 PM, the receptionist answered but seemed completely unfamiliar with their menu. It was raining outside, and she informed me that the kitchen had already closed. She offered me takeout, and a few minutes later, another lady called back, this time more knowledgeable about the menu. She tried to recommend the seafood pasta, but I told her I wasn't a fan of pasta. I asked for a fresh seafood option instead, like chowder. I drove there, waited another five minutes, and when I finally tasted the chowder back at my stay, it was far too salty. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Parking: Parking is available in the wooded area in front of the restaurant.

Excellent fresh and delicious clam chowder star of the show but over priced for what you get? Coffee was cold and so was the deserts. A cold and hard browny drizzled with caramel sauce should have been warm in my opinion.

We’re travelling from Toronto and as tourists, we explored Cape Breton and its wonders. We were coming from a long day of activities and wanting a heartwarming meal to cap things off. We arrived here at 8:00pm and they close at 8:30pm. The staff and the chef welcomed us fully and served the best meal we’ve had so far on the island. We had everything - from the mussels, the chicken, the salmon, etc. The chowder reminds me of SFO & Boston. Everything is served the way we like it. Note that we’re a table of 13!
Again, thank you!!! And shout out to the best girl - Jana, who helped us out. The new chef and the owner, Paul, came out. He’s the sweetest.
Again, thank you.

They have the best seafood chowder in Cape Breton. The seafood pasta was also very tasty. The owner also played the harmonica while we were eating. I really enjoyed the dinning environment! highly recommended!

This place had the best review around this area so when we came here, Paul (the owner) greeted us, and told us amazing news that they just got the fresh lobsters and mussels so we had to order these. We also ordered cod croquette and salad where it was freshly picked from their garden. Paul is a cheerful and jolly person who played trombone while we ate, and this was a magical experience for us. It was so good that we decided to stay here the whole night and ate dinner here as well while we listened to live concert. Paul is also pretty involved in community and aboriginal culture as well and we can tell he really loved and cared about this place.
Vegetarian options: Also had vegan option

As soon as you walk in, the decor and ambiance of Cabot Shores is a delight... from the different colored table clothes to the stone mantle surrounding the wood burning stove.
We were immediately greeted by our sweet and efficient waitress, Prajakda, who was knowledgeable and professional, and you could tell right away that she had such a kind soul.
We enjoyed an item from each section of the seasonal menu.
For appitizers, we enjoyed the locally caught mussles in a light white creamy garlic broth and the cod croquettes crispy, dense, creamy, and full of flavor with caramelized onion jam which was only slightly sweet.
We then split a pasta entree, which we normally would not do, but we just had to try this homemade Ricotta pasta in light butter and garlic ... WOW! By far, this was better than any pasta we've ever enjoyed anywhere! ...light, fluffy, creamy... absolutely amazing!
For our entree, we enjoyed locally caught lobster and Atlantic salmon, which were cooked to perfection. The salmon was so moist, yet slightly crisped on top with a light maple and stone mustard glaze.
We just had to try the apple crisp and brownie, both with freshly whipped cream on top, because we knew they had to be homemade... both were SO GOOD!
Our chef for the evening was Chef Ajani. We had to meet her to tell her in person how pleased we were with each creation and that she should open her own restaurant!
Thank you, Cabot Shores Bistro for a memorable evening...we will return ❤️

The food service was a big surprise! We had the lasagna and it was the best comfort food, delicious! The lodge is so cozy and fellow guests even started a fire which we all hung out around after dinner! Paul played some music for us which was awesome!!! Next time we will be sure to book in for a night when there is live music and a jam session after dinner :)
