The Turtleback Tap & Grill Reviews
Great food with a lovely water view!
This was our first visit and we were so impressed!
A smaller space than we expected but the service was friendly and fast, and food was AMAZING!
We started with onion rings and seafood chowder. The onion rings weren’t your typical thin, frozen from a bag, thrown in the deep fryer type. The chowder was absolutely delish, so if you’re a chowder fan, you have to try it.

I’m super disappointed. This is the second time we’ve been in and had terrible service. When we sat down the drink order was placed quickly but that was it. We waited for over 30 min and no one came to take our food order. We even told the waitress that we were ready to order and that our child was hungry and hoping to get his meal order in ASAP. The Turtleback Tap & Grill offers a friendly atmosphere and excellent service. They have a variety of local beer options on tap, and the seafood chowder and fish tacos are particularly delicious. The servings are generous, and the staff is polite, friendly, and efficient. Visitors often enjoy the fresh and tasty food, including fish tacos with sweet potato fries, steak with mashed potatoes and veggies, and chicken tenders. The restaurant is a great choice, especially since it is one of the few places open early in the week near the airport, with many guests appreciating the quick service and welcoming staff. The outdoor back porch offers scenic views by the lake, perfect for outdoor dining. Parking is available in a large lot, though it shares space with a small ice cream shack, which can fill up during busy times. Wheelchair accessibility is easy to find, with marked spots and accessible entry, though the front door is heavy. Guests have praised the delicious food, friendly wait staff, and speedy service. The food menu includes items like the club sandwich with poutine, which has awesome gravy, and the maple curry chicken, described as a treasure of taste. The pan-fried haddock could have used a bit more creamy sauce, but the fish and chips are considered downright delicious, like finding gold in the galley. The restaurant’s turtle theme adds a clever charm, and the crew’s service is sharp-eyed and quick, keeping guests well cared for on their voyage. Overall, the Turtleback Tap & Grill provides a satisfying dining experience with good food and friendly service in a scenic setting.
