Today I was totally disappointed with Diane’s Takeout. My boyfriend and I made a special trip to Five Islands from Springhill to get our last feed of seafood before the restaurant closed for the season. We have been going there for a long time and always received good service until today. I preordered and asked for the food to be ready at 5:30. We pulled in at 5:31. My order was sitting in the window, perfect. I asked the young lady in the window if forks, ketchup and napkins were in the bag. She assured me everything was there. I paid and we drove up the road to the Lighthouse Park to enjoy our meal. I opened the bag to find no forks, ketchup or napkins. The bag was soaked in sweat and our food was cold. I just paid $75.00 for a total fail. I am writing this today because I want people to know if you preorder, check your food before you leave the restaurant.

I had the senior size clams and fries. The portion was proportionate for the price $13 the clams and fries were ok. I’ve had better. The dessert Chocolate Delight presented well but there were small fragments of ice in the ice cream. Over all was okay. The server wasn’t very chatty they seemed more focused on the kitchen than the 4 tables.

rented a cottage in Bass River. decided to go out for supper. went to Dianne's. omg it was amazing. I had the fish & chips, (flounder fish, to die for and the fries were so crispy). then had a piece of skor cheesecake. there is no way you can convince me that it wasn't homemade. delicious. Def would go again. and this little cutie was in the parking lot with it's owner. had to hold him.

Atmosphere is not much to look at but who cares when the food is that delicious. For those who miss John's Lunch, THIS is where the people go to eat fried seafood. Best French fries I've ever had, HANDS DOWN. Got the seafood platter for 50$ and split it with my husband.

It’s was awesome. Clams and haddock perfect . If they want to make it better home cut fries , and I would pay for homemade tartar sauce and Coleslaw , wedge of lemon . I don’t want ketchup. They are so close to perfect.
