Recent as a TD aeroplan infinite privilege visa holder trying to get access to the lounge and had terrible experience. Employee Amir and another Asian Employee are extremely rude and disrespectful. Not 100% His conduct was influenced by unconscious racially bias or simply a lack of adequate training. Regardless, his attitude reflects poorly on Air Canada and undermines the sense of privilege and respect that loyal customers and shareholders like us should feel.
Have visited the Maple leaf lounge at least 7 times this year. Except for one time, the food choices for vegan and vegetarian are limited. When asked the staff and the manager simply pointed out to the soup and salad. If the chef can make 5 to 6 options for meat eaters, why can’t you make one or two items for non meat eaters? How hard this is going to be? Learn from Toronto Maple leaf lounge or other cities, Grow up Halifax airport Maple Leaf Lounge.
Vegetarian options: Except for soup and few salad chickpeas not much.
Dietary restrictions: Really not many options for vegetarians. The staff are so ‘unaware’ of the standards. The ambience feels like second class tier 2 facility.

Small and busy, was definitely not worth wasting a lounge pass on this one.
I’d put the food below an average hotel continental breakfast. I found one of the last empty seats. Had to put my cup on the ground as there was no table near by. I got a more relaxing experience in the terminal downstairs.

I don't ever like to leave poor reviews but this lounge is not great. It could really use some life, it's dates and the food selection was very poor. Can't beat free but AC could give a little love to the Halifax lounge

Needs an update and more electrical plugs. Weird to have no non-dairy milk options for cereal or tea. Staff were wonderful.

It feels like Air Canada has forgotten about this lounge.

Didn't allow Condor business passengers even though the website clearly states that Star Alliance member airline passengers are welcome, which Condor is.
The place was a mess and understaffed. No utensils. Lack of food.

The Maple Leaf Lounge was disappointing overall. It is very small and the service was lacking. The food options were limited to just salad and pasta, which was quite underwhelming.

The other day when I came into the lounge first thing noticed was how clean and comfortable the lounge seemed to be. The staff were very nice and polite, smiling and making sure our dishes were being taken. The food was what you would expect it to be for it being airport food, pasta (which was alright) and curry cauliflower (didn’t try) pretty basic and simple food choices with a good salad bar. What made me write this review was management.Having a past hostess experience myself, I can pick up on certain things while watching the service industry, as I said, before the staff were polite and friendly, but around noon, right before I left, I overheard a conversation where there was a girl who seemingly looked to be the manager kept ordering them around telling them stuff that they’ve previously done and she was almost redoing everything they touched. She never smiled nor was polite to the staff or any customers and she looked stressed out of her mind (which was a bad look for her).My final thought was while they brought the lunch menu out there was a very tall man dressed in all black (I’m assuming the cook) where he would touch the food with his hands and pick away at THE FOOD which just didn’t seem right to me because that’s disgusting and disappointing to be seen without any gloves on his hand.My takeaway is I will mostly be back but only to say hello to the regular staff I see and for the bar.

So lounges are now mass compatible anyway. But this one is really bad. Food is substandard, no one cares about the “buffet” everything is empty or handing out only the cookies are good. Not a place to stay.

AC Lounge food in general is never anything special in the N. American locations. I was here from 5-7p and they had fixings for a wrap with very thin sliced meat, some cold cooked veggies, and the usual raw and veggies, as well as a sauce. None of it looked appetizing. I went for the minestrone soup but it was so salty I couldn't eat it. There were also lobster rolls which didn't look appealing either as they were not covered and just sitting in the bottom of an open cooler shelf. This is a small lounge. There are 3 seating areas, The main lounge is largest. In the food area there are a few small tables to eat at. Then there's a fairly large windowless office area with 4 L shape cubicles which is where I settled to do some work. It was very quiet so this was nice.Bathroom is small, just two stalls. It does have an aquarium which could be a good distraction for kids.
