It looks as if the staff is only quick when it comes to assaulting people on the PUBLIC sidewalk.
A good spot to stop between flights! We sat at the bar, and the service was very quick. They also had a nice assortment of local beer which was nice to try!

My fish cakes were dry and the hollandaise sauce was tasteless. When asked I was honest and to my surprise the meal was comped. Thank you Tracy!!! I wasn't expecting that.

The food was delicious with Molson Canadian on tap! A great stop between, or while waiting for your flight.

Overpriced with okay service. I ordered the original burger with a side lobster tail because I was told it was larger portions and while the food looked okay, it was actually quite cooled. The portions were also very small for what I paid (~$47 before tip)! Seating wasn't super comfy either as the chairs sat very low and my table was wobbly. Definitely wish I would've chose somewhere else to eat for my layover

I had a bit of time before my flight and decided to stop by this restaurant since it looked lovely and inviting. I went with a Halifax classic, the lobster roll with a side of kettle chips, one of my favourites. The presentation was nice, but I found the lobster roll a little bland for my taste. Service was also a bit slow. I was seated quickly, but my server took a while to come back, even after I ordered. That said, it is an airport and a busy time, so I understand. I’d give this place another try, but I probably wouldn’t go for the lobster roll again, especially for the price.

I am incredibly happy to be writing this review, as I will definitely remember this restaurant the next time I have a connecting flight to Halifax. We were seated quickly, and the menu prices were about standard for an airport restaurant. But what really stood out to me was the incredible service from one waiter in particular: his name is Stamos. (I apologize if I butchered your name!)
He checked up on us often, made sure we were satisfied with our dishes, and was just a great person overall.
Prices aside, if I lived in Halifax, I would book a flight just to eat there again and experience that exceptional service I haven’t found anywhere else.
The food was tasty, and the kids’ portions were very generous. I recommend getting the chicken and noodle soup and the spaghetti and meatballs if you have multiple people.
All in all, this was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at any restaurant I’ve reviewed.

Horrible customer service and the worst- i mean the ABSOLUTE worst quality of food for the price. It’s Ridiculous.
This was the worst experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We walked in at 5:30 PM before our 7:00 PM flight. The restaurant was right in front of our gate, so we thought we had plenty of time.
We received the menu almost immediately, but people who were seated 20 minutes after us had their orders taken first—despite us trying to get the attention of the Filipino server. We told him we were ready to order as it was already close to 6:00 PM, but he gave us attitude.
He finally took our order at 6:00 PM, and we ended up waiting another 30 minutes. During that time, we literally saw people who were seated 20–30 minutes after us already digging into their food—even though they had the same dishes as we did. Mind you, those were groups of three or more.
Eventually, we got tired of waiting and asked to have our food packed to go. Again, we had to chase the same server just to make that happen.
Absolutely no tip. The worst service ever.

Honestly, a delightful airport meal. Surprised at the smooth, kind and quick service and the freshness of the fish and produce. Recommend the teriyaki salmon bowl.

Really enjoyed the food here. Got the donair egg rolls and a beef dip and both were tasty and fresh. The restaurant is comfortable and the service is fast and friendly.

I recently found myself with an unexpected two-hour flight delay at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and I'm so glad I chose to spend that time at Firkin & Flyer.
This British-themed restaurant made the delay somewhat enjoyable and was a welcome escape from sitting at the gate. Despite being busy, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring I was comfortable and well-served throughout my extended stay.
I opted for the fish and chips, and they were absolutely spot-on – perfectly crispy, flaky fish and delicious chips- it was the ideal comfort food to settle in with during my wait. They also have a good selection of local beers on tap, which is always a bonus.
If you find yourself with time to kill at HFX, Firkin & Flyer is a great choice.

Aurora served me. What an impressive young girl. She is easily the best server I have encountered. Fast, attentive, polite, efficient, a real professional. I have worked in this industry in the past and also ran my own restaurant. If I were starting again, I’d want to hire Aurora. Mary Pat
It is ok for what it is. Stick with basics and will be fine

Remarkably good lobster roll. Better than most we had in Halifax proper. Good sized and fresh. Very pleased.
