My wife and I traveled out here to perform at StanFest and stopped in here on a whim, just looking for a pint. We will be back for sure next time around! Thank you kindly to John for the laughter, the stories, and the fine spirits.
We had an amazing stay at Authentic Seacoast this weekend. The property is absolutely beautiful! Everyone we met ( Gerard, Robyn, John and Glen) were so friendly, accommodating and really made us feel at home. We stayed in yurt #3, thoroughly enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and the wood stove inside when it got chilly. We brought our dog who I think enjoyed it even more than we did! She was able to explore the vineyard and swim in the lake after sticks. We arrived home 2 hours ago and she hasn’t moved off her bed since. Make sure to try out the sauna over the pond and get a flight of rum from John! You will not regret your stay here.
Very nice visit. Amazing number of offerings, including some maple variations (rum; single, double & triple barrel whiskey. I'm more of an IPA guy and they had a couple of those, too.Beautiful building
Visited with my Son from Ontario in early October. It was our first trip to the east coast and we had an amazing stay! We stayed in Distillery House which was perfect. The property is amazing even in Fall with so much to see. We cycled, hiked and kayaked all around Guysborough.John took care of our morning coffee and our sample flights of craft beer and helped us plan our day trip to Cape Breton, he is a wealth of information. Pio set us up with all the equipment for our activities and shared helpful info on the area.We had an amazing dinner at Desbarre Manor, Bonnie and Anne were very welcoming!Thank you all!We will absolutely return someday!Highly recommend a visit or a stay!
My boyfriend and I had an absolutely amazingly wonderful time at yurt 10! We originally only booked for 2 nights but pushed it twice as I was just so peaceful and they truly make you feel like it’s a home away from home! We booked yurt 10 and got the package which included the use of the golf cart, kayaks, bikes to go in the trails, wood fired hot tub and sauna, as well as a tasting platter of absolutely outstanding alcohol such as their famous Virgo vodka, and wide selection of rum, whiskey, beers and ciders all crafted and made right there! I am looking forward to trying their wine when it’s ready I’m positive it’s going to be just as amazing as the rest of the selections. We had an exceptional amazing experience in the sauna as we were laying relaxing in sauna the speckled trout were jumping constantly as it is stocked by the owner and he feeds them. It was so peaceful and relaxing to have a sauna over the otter pond full of fish! When we arrived the hot tub was ready to be used and we were provided with 3 bags of wood/ kindling/ paper and were happy to provide us with more wood any time we asked throughout our stay they even delivered it to us. It was such a treat to have such delicious fresh ground coffee every morning! When we first got there the trail to our yurt was washed out due to a very heavy storm then after it cleared up they fixed the trail and it was much easier to drive the golf cart on. Just up from the yurt was our own private bathroom with a shower and a kitchenette in it. They nicely even provided female products just in case. And there was a sponge and dish soap provided as well as cutlery and plants and bowls. They even offered a laundry facility to the guests and it was coin operated but we were very thankful for that as it was nearing the end of our road trip and was needing to do laundry. We were even allowed to take the kayaks back to yurt 10 which is surrounded by ocean and has a beautiful view of the sunset, sunrise and while relaxing in hot tub there is a beautiful view of the moon rising and the stars!Just up the hill from yurt #10 they have bee hives and you might even see the bee keepers up there collecting their absolutely amazing honey which you can get in gift shop. They have a beautiful flower field with lots of beautiful area with fun painted and crafted chairs where you can just sit back and take in the beautiful nature around you! It was nice to stay in a place run off of solar power and wood stove. Kendra and Glenn are very friendly amazing people and always happy to see us their worker John was also very friendly and helpful with bringing our kayaks over and bringing us wood when we were getting low after the hours of the office he still helped us! When we had our tasting Kendra was very fun to chat with and told us a bit of the history of the alcohol my personal favourite is their Virgo vodka (the mermaid is what attracted me to the bottle) which is made with wheat and their maple rum my goodness their rum is outstanding! All in all Authentic sea coast yurt in the vineyard is a must see and stay if you have the chance you won’t regret it especially yurt #10 ?
Amazing experience!!!!!Beautiful scenery, so many things to do and fantastic staff.
We stayed for three nights in yurt 10 and then one night at the DeBarres Manor house. We had an amazing experience. It was our first “Glamping” experience and it would be hard to top. It was serene. There is peace, quiet, and friendliness that is simply hard to find. Everyone we met, from the property owner Glynn and his daughter Kendra as well as Bonnie and the ladies that took excellent care of us at the Manor. The tastes from the brewery and distillery were amazing. We especially loved the Fortress rum as well as the variety of brews packaged in stunning, colorful and creative cans. We look forward to being able to purchase the products in the States! Thank you Authentic Seacoast!!
Excellent beer and customer service in a gorgeous location. We stayed in town in the Manor House, also operated by the same group. Happened to meet Glen, the owner, while visiting the distillery and enjoyed a quick tour around the property. The yurts and cottages are clean and situated in great locations. Would definitely consider renting here.
John and the crew go above and beyond.Yurts, amazing!
Visited for the yurt in the vineyards winter package, and it was absolutely amazing!! Yurt was very comfortable, the private woodfire hot tub was definitely a huge plus point, and the view was very pretty. John, the manager, was super friendly and helpful! Definitely want to visit again in the summer.

Wow. What an absolutely beautiful place. Stayed in a Yurt for 2 nights and loved it. Would recommend to anyone.
Stayed in Yurt #2 this weekend this is not an ocean from but the riverside area. Overall it is beautiful and we had lots of fun in the shoulder season. All of the yurts are near or in the Vinyard. All of the marketing material is filmed in yurt #10 unless your paying $300 a night it’ll be a bit different. Rules and fees are different online then once you get there so please call and ask questions first. Online it states a full breakfast is included. ( there is on food at this location )Pros: the yurt is great can’t get any better. Warm cozy. Has basic kitchen items ie cutlery plates. They provide one bag of free wood every bag after is $7. We used 4 bags in early spring between the fireplace and hot tub. You are not allowed to bring your own. You do however need to bring your own paper and lighters Some yurts have power to charge your phone and have lamps. There is a BBQ to cook and a prep area in the building next to yurt 1-4. The price to use the hot tub is now included with the yurt rental. (Says differently on the website) there is a sauna by a small pond. There is an extra fee of $60 in the off season is only available during the day due to staffing. ( please be kind small family owned company) . We brought our own bikes and went around most of the trails, fun to see hops, bee boxes, ocean and other parts of vineyard. In the shoulder season no bike or kayak rentals but that is available in the sumner. Would be beautiful as the cove is calm. Would be able to kayak right from yurts 5-10. Take a tour of the distillery it’s beautiful even if you don’t like to drink. All yurts have good WIFI.Cons:Most of the cons are smallNeed garbage can and mirror in bathroom. Also paper towel or hand towel. The bathroom next to Yurt 1-4 has full plumbing and beautiful shower. There is coin operated laundry. Bathroom facility next to 5-9 and the private one next to yurt 10 are composting toilets and solar power. The towels provided are thin good for summer but when it’s freezing getting out of hot tub be nice to have something larger and warmer. Most of the hot tubs are only 2 person. We fit fine though would be very snug for larger people. Be aware that there’s no food at the location and the website is not accurate. There is also a binder that comes in the yurt that has not been updated since summer 2021 and is also not accurate.
Why are you permitting people to stay during severe wind storms? Reschedule and actually protect the safety of your guests, don't be greedy. Don't ever stay here during winter or hurricane season since they'll just force you to stay in a storm then demand you run to the nearest building?
This unique accommodation was a highlight on our travels around Atlantic Canada. It is located on a beautiful vineyard with views of the ocean. We arrived on a stormy day and were worried about water, thankfully everything stayed dry in the Yurt. John, the manager was exceptionally accommodating, driving us to the yurt in a golf-cart, readying our hot-tub and barbecue, and serving us flights of spirits while describing the nuances of each delicious one. In the morning he made the best coffee I had in all of Nova Scotia. The beans are ethically sourced and roasted on-site. They have a Jura super-automatic espresso maker which made perfect Americanos. For the reviewers complaining about lack of amenities, it's glamping (emphasis on the camping part!) The showers and toilets were very clean and lined with aromatic cedar. The Yurts had WiFi, nice beds, a table, chairs, plates, glasses, cutlery, and a wood-stove. Our unit had both a hot-tub and a bbq. Things to bring: a cooler, a frying pan and/or pot, your own food (though there are some restaurants in-town), water bottles.Notes on the yurts: 1-4 are located close to the distillery. These are great for proximity to the car and coffee, but you get some noise. 5-9 are located down by the water, which is quiet, but a bit of a trek to the car. 10 is located in a private area by the water with it's own bathroom/kitchen combo.
Great experience staying in one of their yurts! The grounds were very well maintained and had a great view/accessibility to the ocean. The staff were very kind. Overall very relaxing experience.
