Vernon’s Thunderbird Diner

The waitress really wanted me to have a hot turkey supper even though I ordered a hot hamburg with onions and mushrooms lol she corrected it asap and I really enjoyed my meal.

A friendly old school diner with lots of menu options. The food is good but pretty basic. I had a bacon and eggs breakfast that was delicious. A friend had the western sandwich and was not impressed. Another had mac and cheese and they liked it. Overall a good spot if you’re hungry.

Great food and the best staff! Love going here with the family. Ice cream and milkshakes are so good they're almost dangerous! Patio is great in the summer as well!

While the restaurant itself has a cool diner vibe, it is not a dog-friendly place. We arrived for a bite to eat with our Golden Retriever and were told the dog was was not welcome on the outside patio (no one was on it), and that our only option was counter ordering take-out and eating it on a picnic table in the parking lot. As a couple who often eats out with our dog while the weather permits, we were looking for table service not take out and were surprised to learn that the owners do not permit dogs on the patio. One of the waitstaff told me that there was an incident between two dogs in the past and rather than not welcome those dogs again, they made a blanket decision to ban ALL dogs. We have had some excellent experiences with our dog on a patio all throughout the province this summer and it was disheartening to scratch Vernon’s off our restaurant list. Sharing this experience to let all other dog owners know and hopeful that Vernon’s will rethink its policy.

Good but expensive. Why do I have to tip in the drive thru. I'm broke too.

Heinz or frechs ketchup would make a big difference too.... Anyway. Nice place. Good fish and chips.

Loved the fresh fish haddock tips and homemade fries. And choice of beef gravy.
Can't wait to visit on a Fri to try the crunchy fish. My friends Loved it.

Love this place, visited from Toronto. Takes you back to Grease and feeling young again. The servers were so courteous, the food was great, I'm a vegetarian and they served a tasty bean burger. The interiors are all so cute and overall love the place. Definitely recommended.

If I could give the food 4.5 stars I would. Better than average diner food, and generous portions. I had the open face turkey. The service was super: super fast, super good, and super friendly. If you like the retro look (and I do) you will enjoy Vernon's.

While eating my mashed potatoes I got something hard in my mouth. I put the hard pieces on a napkin and told our waitress. She called another waitress over. This waitress told me it was potato that didn't get mashed. These pieces (of potato) were so hard my teeth or fork wouldn't mash it. So, NO it wasn't just potato that didn't get mashed. I would post a picture but it isn't pretty. I wouldn't eat any more mashed potatoes so all they gave me was a free side of fries.
