The Blarney Stone Restaurant

Always planned on stopping by this simple homey restaurant after many years of hearing great things about it. The setting is very rustic and basic - trucker style setting. That being said, the service was prompt and totally hilarious and enjoyable after striking up banter with the waitress Jen. She was witty, fun, professional and courteous as she knew how and when to pull back, serve and roll! Jen made our visiting experience as pleasant as the food. We will definitely revisit and wait in the cue to make her have to deal with us again!
PS - the best batter on my haddock I've ever had. It was light and crisp with clean oil. Pieces were smallish but I don't eat as much as I used to and so was adequate. (2 piece fish and chips) We were also pleased that they served Hell Bay and Heritage craft beer as we like to try and spend local and support NS awesome products! Thanks Blarney Stone and it's quite obvious that Jen kissed the Blarney Stone with her winning ways!

I've been coming here on and off since I was a little kid in the late 80s/early 90s.

We went last night for the first time in years, and it is still as good as ever. The consistency at this restaurant is the key.

The wait staff are some of the best around, even at full capacity while doing takeout orders.

There is a reason this place has stayed open for over 40 years. The food is always good, the staff is always friendly, and the price is very reasonable considering our cost of living crisis.

My experience was with rotten fish, passed off as haddock. Haddock isn't grey! The smell was so bad I gagged. The meal appeared to have been frozen and then microwaved as the fish was soggy and very wet. Came home sick to my stomach and will never return. Gross. First time, last time.
