The food was delicious! We ordered the mussels with the fried bread in white wine. The sauce was delicious and the bread was amazing! I could’ve eaten a bucket of just that bread. We also got the crispy haddock, it came in a bed of chickpeas. The chickpeas were just okay but the fish was perfectly crispy and delicious. We also got the pizza of the day, a Greek pizza it was good! Nothing extravagant. Dreaming of coming back for those mussels and bread!
The location is dreamy, we sat outside and enjoyed the warm breeze and beautiful view.
Great gluten-free fish and chips.
Great option for a lighter lunch. Decent view with outdoor seating, too
Had the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Lots of great seafood in it. Ambience of the restaurant and wait staff were all top notch. Will definitely return in the future.
Just north of Peggy's Cove on the waterfront is this food establishment that everyone raves about named Rhubarb. You have to make a reservation because this place is always packed.
Their space is a cute homey interior with lots of bright natural night and classic adornments. It's got great character.
The food is spectacular. It's fresh and well presented. You have try a seafood dish of some sort when you're here. They also do a wonderful brunch.
The service was just ok. Very service like. Not overly friendly with our server or the front till which was disappointing.
Otherwise you have to give this place 5 stars.

What is with Nova Scotia and its restaurants with epic views while you eat and drink ? Rhubarb is nestled just outside the village of Peggy’s Cove which is perfect during tourist season because you can escape the hustle and bustle. It’s a modern restaurant menu with a rustic seaside atmosphere situated on a resort property overlooking the ocean. Staff are very delightful as soon as you enter, all smiles and east coast welcoming. You can hear the kitchen and smell the amazing local creations as soon as you enter. The menu isn’t overwhelming with choices but is overwhelming with delicious decisions to make. My go to was the haddock and chips or as some may know it as the Fish and Chips. Hands down in my experienced opinion the absolute best fish and chips in all of Nova Scotia. I’ve even fallen into the trap of ordering it for take home on the regular. They have live music towards weeks end, it’s warm when it’s cool outside and it’s breezy when it’s warm outside. The owners and staff do an amazing job of making anyone and everyone feel welcome. It’s a must experience in Nova Scotia
Good food. Lovely service. Good price point and lovely view from outside.
We had another amazing dinning experience this evening (Ian's birthday, May 30/25). The cornbread was amazing but the seafood pasta is always our go to. Looking forward to getting back soon.
After a day at Oceanstone spa ( right behind Rhubarb ) we had a late lunch. The food was spectacular. Best Caesar salad & super crispy & tasty pizza. The atmosphere was lively & service was excellent. We will go again.
My husband some and I had just finished a really nice thermotherapy circuit at Oceanstone on New Year’s morning. We were hoping to finish it off with a nice lunch, but when we arrived and asked if a table was available, the hostess and server just stared at us and after several seconds replied with “no, there are no tables”. So we left the empty restaurant. We will not go back there, I myself work in a service based industry, and customer service is very important. It wasn’t about there being no tables, in what appeared to be an empty restaurant at the time, it was how we were treated. I understand, that maybe there were reservations for empty tables at the time, but they weren’t even smiling when communicating with us. It was very disappointing, and not the first less than stellar experience I have had at the restaurant.

Have been here three times. The food is slightly above average though on my last visit the waitress was very rude unpleasant. It sort of soured the entire experience. I would not go back.
Edit: went back recently as I assumed things may have changed in intervening years. Staff was as unpleasant as ever.

My boyfriend and I walked in for a snack, luckily they were able to sit us by the window before their next reservation. The staff was kind and efficient. Got the lobster roll during the summer and it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try more food
