I want to love the Rhubarb but it has consistently fallen short. Portion sizes keep getting smaller. Biscuits are 1/4 of the size they once were. Mostly pizza & pasta on it the menu. Overall lackluster.

The place is really old.I ordered fish cakes with chowder but I got potato cakes with just smell of fish and such a tiny cup (smaller then regular cup) of chowder with just potatoes and carrots, one shrimp and piece of haddock. I’ve been surprised when I got a bill for that $27 for that dish!! People, what’s a problem to go to any restaurant on waterfront Halifax and get high quality service, amazing food and views?? Horrible place, not recommended!!

Absolutely fantastic brunch - fish cakes with poached eggs were incredible and the coffee was refilled before your cup was empty. Amazingly friendly service.

The atmosphere is great, but one the nights they had live music. The venue is probably a little too small for that, and it was a little hard on the ears while trying to eat. This is by no means to say it was unpleasant, as you can see by my rating. I really enjoyed the meal and the music. It is just not quite big enough for it to be perfect, but it was perfectly enjoyable.We stayed upstairs, but that is part of the Ocean stone resort so that will be a seperate review.The Menu isn't huge, but everything they make is excellent. Why list items you are not great at, just to have a bigger menu.The second night we had a different table and no music and it was totally different vibe. The restaurant is truly charming and the owners have added so many small touches that really enhance the experience. I really love the place and know I will always have a great experience there. She even shared where she bought the amazing table lamps they use. (I am not telling, you will have to visit and charm it out of her yourself.)If you want to have dinner in a comfortable out of town place, that is will priced and enjoyable, I cannot recommend this place enough. This was our 2nd and 3rd visits and I feel confident in giving it 5 stars.
