Great service and friendly staff. lobster prices were fair and there are many different sizes, also gave us a bottle of salt water to cook the lobster in (we brought our own bottle. We bought a few pounds of scallops as well, they were also delicious. Don't know anywhere else I would buy lobster on the south shore.

They have live lobster and clams on ice. Everything else is frozen. Decent prices, good quality. But lady was rude on the phone. Decided not to go back because of it.

I visited Ryer Retail about ten years ago with some friends, and it was such a memorable experience. Back then, not only could you buy live lobsters to take away, but you could also sit and enjoy freshly boiled lobsters in seawater. We had two huge lobsters right there at the restaurant and then took two more to go. It was a fantastic time, and the experience left a lasting impression.
I recently visited again just a week ago, and while the location is still the same, unfortunately, dining in is no longer allowed. The owner informed us that this has been the case for the past eight years since it’s not classified as a restaurant. Nevertheless, the owners, a lovely elderly couple, were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Though the dining experience has changed, I highly recommend Ryer Retail for anyone looking to buy fresh lobsters. If I get the chance to go again, I’ll definitely take a couple of lobsters to go!

Stopped here in August for fresh lobster and oysters. The owners were super knowledgeable and friendly, the prices were pretty typical of general retail prices, but quality and service were awesome. Lobsters were from NB as we were out of season in NS, but they were clearly very fresh and they had a nice range of sizes available. The oysters were Black Points and were hands down the biggest, freshest oysters we've ever had. Absolutely recommend. Can you get this kind of stuff at the big grocery store up the road? Sure, but what fun is that?
