Winnies has delicious, reasonably priced and freshly made food. There isn't anything there that isn't great tasting.

Busy little place expect a wait but trust me when I say it’s well worth the wait.
Also be prepared it’s cash only. We didn’t know this prior so couldn’t afford the fish and chips which is what we both originally wanted. However we both love burgers so we both go a bacon cheeseburger. Waited about 20 minutes as the place was super busy. The food came out in large portions ,hot and fresh. They have a few picnic tables , and a few yard games surrounding there trailer. They’re located next to a camp ground.
Definitely would come back

I have been to Winnie's several times and enjoyed several different things. I would say as far as food goes it's one of the best places to eat in Cape Breton for food quality and value for money.

Very good meal at an affordable price. I chose the bacon cheeseburger which came with a mountain of fries. I loved it.
The homemade fish and chips were very generous too. The portions of poutine were very large.
The charming decorations and children's games around were appreciated during the waiting time.
Parking: It is large enough to accommodate several cars.

No prices listed and they only take cash. We are a family of 5 and I only had a little Canadian currency left. So I asked if they could take US currency. She said yes but they won't convert it. So basically they would be making 37% profit from my cash.

Great snack including a few outdoor seating areas. We were nearby as tourists and saw the recommendations on Maps and it was really worth it! There were a few people there, but ordering and preparation still went super quickly! Relaxed atmosphere among guests and the staff was super nice and friendly. The fries are very tasty and the portions are large. Absolute recommendation!

The best fish and chips on Cape Breton Island ! Homemade crinkle cut fries are amazing. The poutine is amazing. Staff are really friendly !! Lines may be long at peak times but the line ups move fast.
The fish and chips are 10/10. I visited on the last day before they closed up for the winter. Amazingly delicious food, great ambiance, super clean washrooms, ample parking, friendly people, value for money.

Pretty sure I had the best poutine of my life here. Wow! Hot all the way to the last fry. It was outstanding. We ordered a hamburger and a 1 piece fish and chips and asked to upgrade the fries to a poutine. It was massive, enough for a family of 4 but my husband and I devoured it, even though I couldn’t move afterwards. The fish was cooked to perfection. The burger was fresh and delicious.
