The Beach Pea Kitchen & Bar

It is a very atmospheric restaurant in the heart of a historic town, with family-like service. Our recommendation is to try local Nova Scotia Halibut here. Their pastas are amazing. Also appreciated the service - my sister wanted a cup to go, which they did not have. So they went to a nearby place and got the cup!

One of our favourite restaurants in Lunenberg and a must go to when we visit every year. For this occasion I can't give 5 stars across the board. Best customer service was the hostess (Amanda) calling a couple hours before our reservation time to see if we had a preference for inside or patio. That was a great touch and was appreciated. We chose the patio which was an awesome dining ambience - quiet and shielded from the sun and wind but able to enjoy the outdoor weather. Unfortunately the dining itself was not perfect - I recommend the kitchen do a little more quality checks as we had 3 misfires: 1) tuna tartare had a good size fishbone in it (after they mixed up the order with calamari that we didn't order) and could have been an easy choking incident 2) eggshell pieces were found in the carbonara and 3) one of 2 the lobster malfalde we ordered had large slices of lime in it with the pits. Server nor manager really checked on us other than when we told them about the fish bone during appetizer course which was acknowledged. Frankly the service was average overall - wasn't even told the server's name. Besides the above issues, the pasta dishes are incredible in taste. Love that all pasta are house made which really comes through in the dish flavours. We will go back again and hope that this one occasion was a one-off.

We had the best service. The food was amazing. There was no longer wait. It was beautiful out and quiet. Really nice. Coming back for sure

There was no wait time.We were promptly seated. The menu is interesting and leans to seafood and pasta. The rabbit risotto with scallops was delicious.A talented kitchen staff with refined dishes, and great service. Highly recommend.

thought i had made a reservation for 4, but got there and realized it was for only 2. But the restaurant was very accommodating and we got a table right away. The food was a bit disappointing. Everything was over salted. the pasta dish was a mushy and nothing special. But we did have a great evening.

Parmi toutes les recommandations des gens du coin, Beach Pea revenait sans cesse. Et dès la première marche devant, j'ai compris pourquoi. L'ambiance dégage quelque chose d'authentique, une vibe qui donne déjà envie de s'attabler. Le coup de cœur s'est confirmé dans l'assiette : un espadon en menu du jour, grillé à la perfection avec une salsa fraîche et éclatante. L'agneau était tout simplement impeccable — juteux, tendre, équilibré. Et le tartare, un modèle du genre : parfaitement assaisonné, franc et fin à la fois. Côté vin, ce n'est pas la cave la plus ambitieuse, mais l'essentiel y est. C'était tellement bon qu'après une date avec ma blonde, j'y suis retourné le lendemain avec ma mère, ma sœur et ma fille. Un restaurant qui rassemble les générations autour d'un vrai bon repas ? Inoubliable. Mon seul conseil : allez-y, réservez

Excellent pastas with seafood, and creative cocktails. Unfortunately the service did not match the food. She did the bare minimum; slow to greet us; never checked back after the food was brought to the table. We had to flag her down to order a second cocktail. Set down dessert menus without a word. Very disappointing.

Food was very good! The time between the courses was too short! In less then 45 minutes they served three courses. It felt like they had to hurry up. That was a pity.

First visit to Lunenburg and saved the best for last. It did not disappoint. The food was outstanding, the overall ambiance to our liking (lively, mostly couples, not too quiet but also not too noisy with big groups), wine choices were excellent as well. We had the octopus appetizer, which was amazing, and the arancini appetizer, also delicious. For our mains my husband had the risotto, which was fresh, delicate and rich, and I had the pasta sepia (cuttlefish pasta with seafood) which was also excellent and both were very fair sized portions, they don't skimp. My only observation, and it was minor, was that the hostess service seemed a bit confused (forgetting to offer menus when seating the table next to us, and brought us the dessert menu when we hadn't had our mains yet) and upon arrival the restaurant filled up with too much smoke from the kitchen, but both of these minor items were quickly addressed. I would return without question and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lunenburg, definitely the best restaurant in town.

I've been so many times and literally it is always perfection. Will be back again and again!!!!
