Our room was nice with a great view of the harbor. Basic facilities but nice. Breakfast was good.
nice place and nice food ❤️
This Inn was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately other than the view it was extremely disappointing. The room smelled musty, the towels were washed but need to be replaced as they were not clean. The bed was totally unacceptable. The headboard and frame need to be updated as you could not move without waking the person next to you. The bed was Extremely uncomfortable and not acceptable to sleep on. We did not get any sleep. Check in was just hand you the key and that was it no explanation on the restaurant or Inn. You also need to plan on parking as this is an extremely busing area and the Inn has no parking you are on your own. We had to park two blocks away and there is no option to pull up and drop bags.
Great location And lovely place
We stopped for lunch at the restaurant. The best lobster roll we ever had at $35 a piece. Fries were also great. Good beer selection. Overlooking the Lunenburg wharf, view and service were amazing. We wish our server a fast recovery from her damaged wrist. She was absolutely amazing.
Just stopped in for a bowl of chowder with home made bun ( as noted on the menu), $18. Let’s start with the bun, was an obvious store bought variety. The soup was hearty with a lot of seafood, ( will give it that) but the flavour was a bit bland and overall serving size small. After the server dropped the food off, the next time I saw her was about 5 minutes after I’d finished eating when she asked how it was and gave me the bill saying I needed to pay at the front. I went to the bathroom first, wasn’t that clean, and then went to the area where I was suppose to pay. No one was there so after about two minutes, I walked back around the corner asking if anyone was working there and a server came over to accept payment. It would have been really easy to just walk out the door and not pay ( not my style). The table sitting across from me ordered a meal that came with vegetables and it was really easy to see there were what you’d by in the freezer section of a grocery store. Overall I think there are better dining out options here.
Won’t move you to a patio seat even when there is no line up for it. Their excuse was, once youre seated it’s too much work to move you. Go elsewhere if they’re this lazy
I liked it because I got to eat and watch the water .The service was very nice and food was wonderful.
Restaurant is a TOURIST TRAP. They know nothing of proper seafood prep, which is an absolute shame for a wharf-side restaurant. They didn't clean the beards off the mussels - that were also completely bland, unseasoned and overcooked. They didn't remove the abductor muscles off the scallops - that were accompanied by overcooked Uncle Ben's packaged rice and overcooked bland boiled veggies. The best part of the meal was the grilled cheese we got for our toddler, made with Singles Kraft cheese slices....
The view was nice at least. But the food was disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone that enjoys edible food.
My wife and I stopped here for a drink. They have a nice UPPER patio overlooking the bay and street below. You can see all the bay activities and people watch. The food looked good but we only had time for drinks. I had a glass of their Tidal Wave white wine which was as described and I really liked it. My wife has a Singapore Sling which was delicious as well.

Worst restaurant experience. When we hit about the half hour mark after ordering we politely asked if the food would be arriving soon. Jared, our server, became very snarky and used as many excuses as he could - we came in after the table behind us, there are 28 tables being served, you ordered scallops….. He was extremely rude, loud - actually shouted at us - and condescending! 15 mins or more later our order finally arrived. Vegetables were overcooked and the presentation was very poor - the scallops were reasonable. However, nothing redeemed our experience. He only became helpful when it came time for us to pay, but the rude service did not warrant any tip!
After my mom asked to move seats she said no, was very rude and would’nt let her move after asking her nicely. Terrible service
I went into the restaurant and for the first time ever, had to walk out without eating. Server didn’t take our order for 15 minutes, then another 10 to deliver drinks. After another 10 server apologized for making the mistake and said not to worry, our food was up next. Then another 10 minutes later we left as the food still wasn’t ready.
Terrible service. The place was busy so a bit of a wait was understandable but the place was clearly completely disorganized. Servers asking one another how long lobster rolls had been sitting out and what table they were for, etc. overheard an argument between three servers on whose table belonged to who.
I should mention, I ordered a fish burger and my wife ordered a bowl of chowder. Things that should take very little time to make.
Review: 10/10 Experience at Dockside Dockside is a year-round operating restaurant that truly captures the essence of Nova Scotia. With a full breakfast menu and an impressively large selection for lunch and dinner, there’s never a shortage of options—even for those with a more acquired taste. Their homemade, authentic "Maritime" dinners are a hit with both tourists and locals alike. The pricing is competitive for the South Shore, especially considering the unbeatable view—Dockside sits right on the Lunenburg harbourfront, offering what is arguably the best dining view in town. While wait times can vary depending on the crowd, especially in peak summer, the atmosphere and scenery make it well worth it. Despite the fast-paced environment, the staff are consistently friendly and efficient. I’ve seen them handle everything from packed patios to large bus tours with grace and professionalism. Every visit feels like a unique, enjoyable experience. Dockside perfectly blends local charm with quality service. And really—what better way to kick off your trip to Lunenburg than dining with a front-row seat to the Bluenose II setting sail? Highly recommend—10/10!
I ate here, shared a 2 pc fish and chips and enjoyed the view. The staff were a little rude in the beginning while we were waiting for a table, however it was very busy and definitely stressful to work there. The food came out quickly and was pretty good. We sat outdoors on the deck overlooking the historical waterfront.
