We didn’t stay at the inn, but had supper in restaurant but what a horrible experience it offered. We ordered zucchini sticks which were frozen and undercooked. Had greasy and undercooked fish and chips. Didn’t recommend the food from this place.

Food & drinks: Breakfast is our favorite time to go. Quality and consistency, same plate of food as the last time you were there. The price point is very manageable if your traveling with larger families.

I will forever be obsessed with Dockside inn and restaurant. My mom and I were vacationing the first week of November all through NS. Before arriving I had spoke with an employee Kyle about having some wine and beer in our room for when we arrive and that I was having flowers and balloons sent over as it was my mom's 70th. Kyle was so helpful with organizing everything with the local florist (Seaside Flowers) and made organizing everything seamless. I had asked for a balloon on a stick to put in her flowers and when we got to our room they had gone over and beyond with big balloons and set everything up nicely. Our room was so big and had a fantastic view. The room was outdated but it was clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The next morning we had a very yummy breakfast. Our service was great. Thankfully because we came in the off season, the service staff had more time to talk with us. The owner Mike and his son Kyle 100% made my stay and overall visit to NS very memorable. They were able to talk with us about the history of the building, Lunenburg, the harbor, surrounding areas etc., I could have talked to them for hours to be honest. Kyle even pulled out an old school project he has saved with the history of Dockside and Lunenburg and we loved it. I had no idea that part of Dockside Inn was the original Captain Highliner's building before they moved elsewhere! I even got to open the old vault door and have a peak inside. I personally love finding out about all the cool history so this really made my stay. We came back for another night later in the week and were upgraded to another beautiful, more updated room that I want to rent out for life. It had a great big bathroom, brand new stocked kitchen, and the view was perfect. Location couldn't be better either. I have read previous reviews about slow service and one time we did have to wait a few beats to get our first drink but overall everyone was super friendly and zero complaints. I came for lunch 2 years ago in July and they were slammed busy and we still got great service, however being an Ex-server, I knew they were so busy and we wouldn't be getting the same one on one I got this visit. While this is not the Hilton or Trump hotels (thank Fahk for that), it is charming, beautiful, friendly, close to everything you need, and the only place in Lunenburg I will be booking to stay.Thank you to Mike, Kyle and all of the staff who made our trip fantastic! I will be back110% and can't wait to see you all again!! Oh and they have a really good veggie burger and poutine and my mom loved her stir-fry!Safety: Never felt unsafe once in the hotel or in Lunenburg and I was up late going outside frequently as well. Passed many people and always felt safeWalkability: Close to everything you need in Lunenburg!! Could not get a better location!

We arrived from our cruise ship on Tuesday October 17, 2023 on the. Norwegian Pearl, was seated for lunch and then completely ignored. No service to our table. The couple who came in afterwards and was seated behind us were serviced first and no one even acknowledged our presence. We waited and no one came. We got up and left and told the hostess why we were leaving and they did not try and apologize. Horrible service. I do not recommend any tourist visit this establishment.

This is a great spot for a bite to each for lunch. We ordered the half lobster and 6oz steak with fries. The lobster was tasty and had loads of meat and the steak was cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and we received fantastic customer service, prices aren't to bad at all. The view is pretty good too.

I had a large, comfortable room overlooking the Bluenose and harbour. It was gorgeous. The rooms are a bit dated.

I ate at the restaurant. I was served by Nicole, she was courteous, pleasant and even had all the daily specials memorized and priced. She was so happy to serve us and it really made the experience so welcoming. I ate the veggie stir-fry with curry, and the portion was perfect. It was very creamy and full of yummy veggies. I would highly recommend it.Noteworthy details: Restaurant review

In a tourist town where everything is expensive, the Dockside Inn and their hearty, affordable breakfast is welcome treat. The service is a bit slow, but the staff is friendly and the $9.95 breakfast was filling and hearty. I would definitely go back.

So expensive for dollar store quality frozen fish sticks. TOURISTS BEWARE!!! First of all, I am a nova scotia local and have gone to countless restaurants to get what i ordered today, i’ve never been so shocked. the lady at the front of the store seems like she’s never worked with humans in her whole life, she has the attitude of a hormonal teenager yet is older than my mother. Second, i paid $40 for 4 finger sized pieces of fish, a small fry and a drink. sign said Haddock tips, they were deep fried fish sticks. FORTY DOLLARS FOR ONE MEAL. fries and fish sold separately despite both being a smaller portion than my partners meal which was $10 cheaper. waitress (Mack, she was sweet but could’ve warned me about the insane price) warned other tables about prices but never told me i’d be charged $16 for the fish and $7 for a small fry. all around disgusting experience, if you’re visiting lunenburg go to ANY other restaurant, literally any mcdonald’s over this overpriced dump.Food & drinks: frozen, tiny, so disgustingly expensiveNoteworthy details: evil ogre ‘hostess’, frozen fish, INSANELY high pricing

This spot is lovely for looking out at the harbour over a meal. Sadly, the food was bad...I was unable to eat the clams that were old and stringy. The batter however was excellent so I enjoyed the batter and the fries. No staff came to inquire if we were pleased with our meal. Upon completion a staff member did ask about out meal at which time the clams were mentioned. WELL she said thats not possible they just came in this morning. She said I had two legs and feet that walked and I should have found a server and mentioned the issue. I am physically challenged with difficulty walking without pain, however that should not have mattered. In short the service was bad and the attitude totally unacceptable. This person should have been let go on the spot. Instead, when we mentioned this to the manager(I think) the person at the cash...his attitude was not much better he made me feel like a criminal trying to get away with a free meal...he said WELL did you eat the fries? I said yes so he promptly added the cost of the fries to our bill. Unbelievable!

After an interesting walking tour of Lunenburg, we had lunch at the Dockside after checking other eateries along the waterfront. As it was the day immediately after Cyclone Lee, many restaurants were recovering from power outage. I had a very delicious and fulfilling seafood chowder bowl with lobster meats, scallops, mussels, halibut. The fish & chips was also nice and juicy. This was one of our best meal in the Maritimes.
