We, two indecisive weary travellers, stopped in for a quick “snack” ( not a full meal)to tie us over till supper time… the staff here were so kind and helpful, and suggested we split a pulled pork bun. It was an excellent suggestion!! The perfect amount to ebb our hunger for a couple hours - and oohhh sooo tasty!!!! Thanks to the staff for their friendly help!

Lunenburg gets busy and the restaurants get crowded. Secured a small table inside on an overcast day for lunch. Service was great and food came out quick! Had a lobster roll, which was different than your tradition lobster roll. It was good, but not the best I've ever had.

Friendly little place offering a great variety of locally sourced options for breakfast and lunch. We popped in for breakfast, it was pouring with rain outside and it was cool to be able sit and watch it hitting the docks. The coffee was great (local Nova Scotian) & I had the Atlantic Benny which was delicious (one of the best I’ve tasted). Great spot for a snack or a meal.

Had high hopes for this place on our way to The Ovens however it was awful. We ordered Chicken Cranberry Panini - bland and way too much cranberry, Fish Burger - very plain and tasteless, and lobster roll - came on a sesame hamburger bun and was just ok. Again little flavour. Bun was odd with it. Service was slow and really not that friendly. Hair found in coleslaw which was it for us - we got out of there as fast as possible.

A welcoming and personalised service. Varied breakfast menu, we went for the Atlantic Bennie which was delicious, clean plates all round. Would eat here again anytime

Take the cutest town in Nova Scotia and add the best little brunch place and you will not be disappointed. The views from the deck are magnificent, so get there before it gets too cold. The food is amazing and the service is very friendly. I suggest any of the eggs benedicts. I ordered the traditional bene and it was perfectly prepared. The poached egg was just right and the bacon was thick and juicy. Just about everything on the menu is going to be a step above usual.

Food was bland - all of our dishes. Service slow and not very friendly. When we found a hair in the coleslaw we left. Would not return.

I googled a few restaurants and the photos of the menu offerings at The Savvy Sailor captured my culinary imagination. We were not disappointed. It is well designed and inviting from the moment you enter. Not too big, not too small - like Mama Bear, just right. Comfortable inside, decor so pleasing to the eye, AND a deck with the splendid renowned view of Lunenburg harbour. The menu is like something I would have dreamt up. Lots of tantalizing, imaginative meal choices, like my orange chilli mussels, and a well curated selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non. The peanut butter and chocolate pie is the last thing I would normally order, but it was delicious without being overly sweet, if that’s possible. My friend insisted we all try his rhubarb tart because he couldn’t begin to describe how good it was. The seats and tables are comfortable and the service is excellent. I am looking for an excuse to go back, sooner rather than later.

Food was great, Cocktail was delicious, service was very motivated, but the view was the best. Absolutely recommend!

If you did not order yet it’s still time to run away! Worst lobster roll of Nova Scotia (if we can call that a lobster roll…) frozen and overcooked lobster meat in a burger bun.. overpriced and disgusting. Please make you a favor and don’t go there it’s not a good restaurant except if you are looking for hospital food. (Ate there 09/2023)
