Visited here while in Sydney for a curling event. It was close to our hotel, and recommended by a local friend. The food was excellent. I had the Pan Seared Haddock, my dinnermates had the Winter Barbecue (a ribs dish) and the Filet Mignon. Everyone loved their meals. The atmosphere is lovely. There was even live music by (I think) Jordan Musycsyn, who was really amazing. It was a great surprise. We didn't realize there would be live music. The restaurant is located in the Membertou Convention Centre, which made for a really interesting location. There is a fascinating museum-like exhibit celebrating Mik'maw history and culture in the Convention Centre hallway. It was very well done. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the venue.

We were hosted and fed here while on a operation with a volunteer organization. The food was excellent and the owners and staff treated us as loyalty. I highly recommend staying at the Hampton and enjoying the amenities here.

What happened??? We were told on the phone that they were to busy! We decided to go and wait however, when we got there we thought we were putting our name in for a table but no, no list. We waited 45 min with a fussy baby and then gave up.

GREAT dining, service is okay, but the musicians they hire play EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD. Let the staff know, but the last 2 times I've been to Kiju, the music is so loud we don't stick around for dessert or additional drinks.

Wonderful service. Great atmosphere. Food was fresh, delicious, with great flavor combinations. Definitely elevated dining as far as Cape Breton is concerned. Started with steamed mussels in the mango chili sauce which was fantastic. Dinner was the Winter Barbeque with spring onion baked mac and cheese and a delicious coleslaw. Highly recommend. Will be back.

The atmosphere in general was very relaxing and comfortable will have this restaurant as one of my top 5 best in Cape Breton !
