I drove through 10 minutes of fog to get to Edelweiss Hotel, like something out of the Twilight Zone. Checked in, then went down for dinner. Had no preconceived notions. This place has some of the best German food I've ever tried (I've had a lot in Germany and elsewhere). The potato soup is without doubt the best I've ever had. Great taste and texture without bogging down my appetite. The beef goulash was tender and moist all the way through, the sauerkraut and spatzel was perfect. For once, I ate every morsel of it. Amazing that I still managed to have dessert, but the cake was so light, again ate all of it. Excellent. Highly recommended. Herr Meister's restaurant is a true gem hidden in the boonies! PS: the hotel is also wonderful

This restaurant was so cute and cozy. The chef was amazing and professional while still being personable. The food is on another level. Absolutely fantastic. I will most definitely be going back. Can't wait to sit on the deck in the summer with a nice glass of wine and a great meal.

You have to stop here if you’re in the area. It’s a must!The food is incredible and you can tell the whole experience is a passion for the owners. The chef frequently came to check in on our meal, you could tell it mattered to him that we enjoyed our meal.Everything was amazing, but the baked potato side was the best I’ve had in my life.Shout out to Danny for serenading us with some classic singalongs.

Dinner at Eidelweiss made me feel like I was on a European vacation without leaving the province. The atmosphere, service and of course, FOOD was extraordinary. You can really tell that love and careful thought went into every bite. I had the Hunter SchnitzeI and my husband had the Beef Roulade, and both were absolutely delicious. I am already planning our next visit. Maybe next time we'll book a stay as well!

This place is a redemption: we haven't seen quality of a real food like this ever in Canada. Chef makes both tables sweet and regular by himself, extremely complicated and professional, nothing comparing with regular North American fried garbage. Our opinion -- price must be 3 times higher for real European experience, it terms of quality and services.
New Year's Day brunch at Edelweiss was a great way to begin 2024. The food and service were excellent. Every offering of the bountiful buffet was delicious and the atmosphere uplifting, from the festive decor to the pleasant live music. We hope we can make this outing a tradition.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!My husband and I discovered it on our recent trip to Nova Scotia when we were staying at a nearby inn. Whilst looking for dinner options, I was immediately intrigued when I saw that there was a German restaurant in the area. I am German and Hungarian decent so this is a special treat for me.And it did not disappoint! We had tomato soup and Hunter Schnitzel and both were absolutely delicious. Just like my dad used to make.We sat on the terrace, with our dog who was vacationing with us, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and sunset on the country landscape. Our server was kind and he even brought a bowl of water for our dog so she wouldn't feel left out :)We went back the following evening again and had another fantastic meal. And, we realized that it is also an inn with pet friendly rooms. Next time we visit Nova Scotia we will be staying here without a doubt. Incredible food, scenery and service, you can't go wrong!Thank you Edelweiss for such a lovely experience the three of us had :)
