We ordered the lobster roll (one of the popular meals of this place) and we were very disappointed. The amount of lobster in the sandwich for the price we paid was outrageous. Barely four small spoons in a cheap bread with a piece of lettuce. The fries were amazing though! I understand the place is remote and that might influence the price, but really, just go somewhere else in Nova Scotia where they serve lobsters and you'll get a much better experience for your money. The lady who took out order wasn't particularly welcoming as well. We do not recommend this place.

Their seafood chowder is good -- meaty and has adequate serving. Only, the amount of lobster meat in their lobster roll was not what I expected -- I've seen some to have more generous serving in that sense for the same price. Nevertheless, the restaurant really has a good ocean view (you can choose to eat indoors or outdoors), which makes this stop along Cabot trail extra fascinating.

A little bit out of the way, but not only worth the side trek, but nice to get off the main highway. One of the best chowders we had while on the island!!!

A charming authentic place in the fishing village near the lighthouse. They have a scenic view and an open outside eating area surrounded by the ocean. It gave an impression that if you stay long enough there you can spot a whale right from the shore. The food was good and the service was quick and efficient. Thank you for a really pleasent experience of local Nova Scotia hospitality.

Stopped by here for lunch on our way back to Camp after hiking the skyline Trail. They had just opened on a Sunday and there was an immediate crowd. We both got the fish chowder and a drink so my review is based solely on that. Excellent fish chowder and a nice fresh baked biscuit to boot. Nice view of the water. It's just a little building with simple chairs and tables and some outdoor picnic area. I imagine everybody that lives in that neighborhood eats there on a regular basis. I know if I were living there or even staying there I would be there most nights.

We stumbled upon the Chowder House serendipitiously while looking for a hike. This was the first time I had ever tried seafood chowder and it has set the bar very high! It was delicious with lots of meat and a creamy broth. Highly recommend. Loved the atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff.

Five stars for all food, service, and atmosphere as we ate outside next to the water and lighthouse. We got a bowl of chowder with the biscuit which did feel pricy at 20$ until we ate it. 20$ is fair! The chowder is served in a cardboard cup to go and the food speaks for itself! It’s full of flavour and chunky! Filling and delicious!!
It was truly delicious and worth the 1700k drive from Ontario! For anyone travelling the Cabot trail this place is a must!
