It is already the end of the season, so the famous restaurant was almost empty. The equipment is quite outdated and the environment is not very attractive. But the fish soup was excellent and the service was also nice and helpful.

Nice views but they really need to replace a few of those screens to let it show!

Its a good oceanside place to visit tand have some snacks on the go. We tried haddock and chips and it was filling. Prices are reasonable and u can dinein outside next to dhe ocean view. The view is absolutely mesmerising and calm. We enjoyed our stay

La clam chowder était excellente et notre serveuse vraiment super ! Nous sommes arrivés quelques minutes avant la fermeture et elle nous a servi avec amabilité. Par contre, son collègue était agressif: fermé les fenêtres et la porte avec force et a quitté l’endroit en faisant crisser ses pneus. Dommage, car la vue et la nourriture en valent l’arrêt.

My sweet In-laws and my nephew were visiting Nova Scotia from Newfoundland and arrived at 11am not realizing they opened at 12. They decided to have some snacks on the outdoor picnic tables while they waited, as they were looking forward to some chowder. 12pm still not open. Then an angry woman came out from the restaurant and yelled at them for trespassing on private property and told them to leave immediately! My in-laws are in their 70's and were just enjoying the beautiful day and taking a rest while they waited for the restaurant to open! They were shocked at such treatment as were we when they told us what happened.

Driving Cabot trail and just about missed the chowder house. My wife made me turn around and stop for lunch. Amazing seafood chowder overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Delicious chowder as expected from a placed called the chowder house! Very flavourful and well seasoned. Seafood was plentiful and the layers of flavour from the chowder was excellent! Also got the clam strips and they were delicious! Good portion sizes. Indoor and outdoor seatings available for rain or shine! Would recommend :)

Good food, reasonably fast. Place was crowded with locals which is a good indicator. I had haddock bites and fries and slaw. Food was hot and fresh. Serving if slaw was tiny (like a condiment cup size). They have a picnic area overlooking the ocean with an incredible view. They are a 1 min walk from an old lighthouse that serves hand scooped ice cream.

Chowder is as advertised. Delicious! Creamy, hearty and full of seafood. Haddock bites were tender and flavourful. Staff were very knowledgeable of local area, history and provided tips/suggestions. Great view to enjoy your meal. Nice quiet place.
