Third time this week. We go there for coffee breaks a lot and I go just cause I love it. Pastries are perfect especially the oatcakes. Rolls and cinnamon rolls are so good. Coffee is always good and fresh.?

This is one of my new fav places. Their soups are amazing (especially the beef and barley. They have awesome bakery treats too. It's a great little place for lunch!

I was happy to see that a place serving hot food opened within walking distance of my place, and one day I popped down to pickup lunch for my wife and I. They post their soup schedule on their Facebook every week, and we lucked out because my wife has a nostalgic soft-spot for their soup of the day that day, corn chowder. Soups come with a biscuit or roll, and I doubled down on biscuits. The corn chowder was still piping hot after taking everything home and getting set up to eat. The soup was was creamy and smooth, with pops of sweetness and texture from the corn. The biscuits were buttery and lightly flaky, and while the exterior was a bit more firm and roll-like than a typical biscuit, it didn't detract from it. I had also picked up a loaf of whole wheat bread, which was light, airy and moist - great for sandwiches or on its own! On a return visit, it was another batch of soups - the daily special of clam chowder and the alway available, tomato cheddar. The clam chowder was thick and chock full of bits of clam and perfectly bite-size chunks of potato. I went for the roll this time, and it was light, smooth and great for dipping. My wife's tomato cheddar was a great, simple soup. The namesake flavours were front and centre and it had a silky mouthfeel from the added fat of the cheese, but the sauce didn't break and have actual pools of grease. For dessert, I bought a couple of their iced cinnamon rolls. They were light and airy - definitely head and shoulders above the grocery store ones - and a quick run through the microwave softened that butter/cinnamon/sugar mix wonderfully, without completely liquifying the icing. A Slice of Home is a fantastic addition to both the neighbourhood and the town as a whole, bringing thoughtfully made goods at affordable prices.

We arrived "late" for lunch, Service was excellent and the food was "amazing". We had "soup & sandwich", mine was a Tomatoe based, and the partners was a "corn chowder", I tasted both, my was great, But I have to say the "corn chowder" was the best I have EVER tasted. ...and that says a LOT! I don't and would not get corn chowder, generally they are too much like creamed corn being sold as soup! In this case I'm wishing I had! It was beyond excellent for flavour and consistency. Don't get me wrong the Tomatoe soup I had, was also great. We each had a "chicken salad" sandwich as well, ....on homemade bread, with "real" chicken , meaning it was made on site. Excellent! ..and the bread crusts were amazing dipped in the soup! The partner doesn't like crusts, so I got a whole bunch to dip! We will be going back when we are in the area, and maybe even if we are not, we might make the trip! It was worth it!20230613 We have just been for lunch a second time, Both our "soup and sandwiches" were excellent! We both had Tomato Chedder soup, and I had a Tuna, the wife had a ham and cheese sandwich on homemade white bread. YUMMY!

Everything about Slice of Home Bakery and Cafe is great. I’ve been going since they opened a few years ago and enjoy the delicious homemade food and friendly service. They have catered for me on two events and everything was excellent. They know their business. Their food portions are generous and the cost is very fair. I highly recommend Slice of Home. It’s a rare find!!!

Great lunch menu, amazing baked goods; cookies, muffins, breads, white, whole wheat, brown, raisin, ++moreTheir soups are great and vary daily. Tomato is a regular daily item if not sold out as it is very popular! The sandwiches are made on their own breads, your choice. All good! The pie flavors are numerous and delicious!Try it, I know you'll enjoy the experience and have to return to try more treats as I have!

Just the best comfort soup in the county. Don’t get me started on the buns and biscuits as well, and the service is always so friendly. Thank you for what you do!

I can't rave enough about their Tomato Soup! It is amazing and quite frankly has ruined all other tomato soups for me. And if you manage to have room for desert then their cinnamon buns are a must! We come in as often as we are able and we have never been disappointed!
