The Appleseed Modern Diner

Decided to try this diner out on a trip to the area ! The food was good and our waitress “ Samantha” was exceptional… polite ,bit of humor AND came back several times to see if we needed anything ( rare in most establishments now a days ) 🫣We’ll be back sooner than you think 👍🏼👍🏼

Food is amazing but .... had 2 waitresses today who weren't friendly at all. We felt like a burden asking for things and not a single smile. Didn't like the vibes

Had tried two other places that website said were open but they were closed. So I came back into town and called here first and they were open. I’ve always enjoyed it here and tonight was not disappointed. I was last one there bur was treated as first. Thanks

This was my second time as I’m not from here but my sister too me for supper today. She had fish and chips and I had breakfast. All was done to perfection. I’m fussy about my eggs and they were done greatest. I don’t know how much was spent we both had sundaes. Our server was Cassie D table # 18 . At 5:20. I will certainly be back

An easy 5 stars due to their vegetarian options! This is hands down the tastiest roasted veggie sandwich I’ve had. Delicious veggies with balsamic glaze on focaccia?! YUM! Highly recommend! I’m impressed, NG! (Photo was taken halfway through my meal)

Overall the diner is cute. The staff are nice. It’s attached to an arcade which is cool.

Vegetarian options: The roasted Veggie sandwich is my go-to. Highly recommend!
They also have a burger but I haven’t tried it.

The food was great, but the service wasn’t so great. My father and grandmother asked for a glass of water with their order and never got it. When a random server came over she asked how things were and my father asked for a water again. I asked too (for my grandma). She came back with only one water and left immediately. No one really checked on us only that one time. When we were done and just chatting (after our long journey) while sipping on our drinks, the servers kept coming over and hounding us asking if we needed anything else. Almost like they were shooing us out. We couldn’t enjoy our drinks and just left. I kept over hearing the servers talk about certain costumers in a judging way too. The atmosphere just didn’t feel like a friendly one.

Always a joy to find a reasonably affordable bite. Appleseed Modern Diner seems to be popular with locals for a retro diner experience with funky vibes & a hearty meal at a reasonable price point. We tried their popular Reuben Sandwich and Haddock Fish n’ Chips.

These huge main dishes were surprisingly only around $17, and we upgraded to sweet potato fries & salad for $2 more. The sandwich meat was on the saltier side. The battered fish was a good portion though could be a bit more crisp. Not complaining at this price point however! We also had the hotdog with mash from the kids menu.

We were happy that they were willing to accommodate us despite arriving around 7:45 prior to their 8pm closing time as one of the last dine-in guests. It’s also neat they are next to a kids arcade, that’s apparently opened by the restaurant’s friends! Hopefully will get a chance to check that out too.

The Reuben was hands down the best sandwich i’ve ever had. The drive from antigonish was totally worth it. I will 100 percent be driving out just to get it again.

Had such an amazing experience here! Drove from Montreal with family and wanted to try a new spot! We got quite a bit of food to share amongst each other: The Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, Mac’n’ cheese, Fish & Chips, Corned beef hash & eggs, as well as their signature milkshakes. Food was incredible, milkshakes were very tasty and the waitresses were so polite and friendly. Highly recommend!

The place was ok and the staff were nice but the food… I’d say the pictures say it all. Talk about a greasy spoon! I ordered the Corned Beef Hash… I wasn’t charged for this which I appreciated and was asked if I wanted to send it back but I didn't feel like eating anything else after seeing how much grease came pouring off my plate.

In response to the owner and obviously the cook! I didn’t leave without paying, the server said she wasn’t going to charge me and my companion offered to pay for the entire bill for the 3 of us! If anyone is going to call the police, it should be me for you trying to give me a heart attack on a plate!

Finally got around to trying this place out. I'm glad I did, I can't wait to come back! Loved the colours of the diner, and I wish I remembered the server's name because she was absolutely fantastic! Very attentive, refilled drinks before you needed to ask and polite. The food was delicious, tasted fresh, and although we were full, it was hard not to try the desserts (something to look forward to next visit). I had the Rueben and the meat was piled high on fresh marble rye. I'd definitely get that again. My husband had the chicken waffle sandwich and gave me a bite, very good! Someone at the table had the Donaire grilled cheese and said it was good. Over all, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here.

You have an obnoxious women working there who likes to make faces and taunt certain customers while they eat. Not a good look for workers to be treating their customers like that. She needs to be fired.

Visited restaurant while staying in the area. Close by the hotel. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Service excellent

I had the donair grilled cheese which was an amazing combination of a classic donair mixed with a grilled cheese made on white bread from a local bakery. The chocolate milkshake was also amazing.
