The servings were not impressive enough for the price. Especially the side salad. Surprised my drink cost $16 .. I mean, seriously? This isn't high end, it's a pub, in New Glasgow. Can't picture myself going back. Should have gone to the thistle.

Stout, Irish music, good food served on wooden tables...

The warm spinach dip had multiple large pieces of ardechoke (in case that isn't your preference) and was devoured quickly.
The fish and chips had a crisp dough-like batter instead of the flake style. I enjoyed it as it didn't shatter into sharp coating as some do.
It's a cozy space with pleasant decor and cheery staff.

THE BEST CLAM CHOWDER OF YOUR LIFE. Myself and work colleagues ( flying in from Toronto) found this place and so glad we did. Everything on the menu made from scratch and everything we ordered was amazing. TRY the clam chowder, seriously the best you’ve ever had.

We stopped in for lunch as we were passing by. Nice ambience - a great looking old building. Good selection of beers. Food was outstanding - if I could give it a 6 out of 5, I would. We had the mussels and blackened chicken penne. Mussels were excellent and the penne was simply the best plate/bowl of pasta we’ve had in five years. Service was prompt and attentive.

If you’re nearby, go out if your way. It’s worth it.

Legitimately one of the best meals I've had in years. Blackened chicken penne was phenomenal, the soda bread was perfect. Service was fast and friendly. Genuinely fantastic.

The food was alright and the service was very good, but nothing can beat that ambiance. That's your selling point.

Beers - stouts and IPAs if I'm not mistaken - in front of the fireplace, supper steaming, as the freezing rain hammers the streets outside in 2017. A colleague and I quibbling about local events, picking away at our meals and savoring every quaff of our beers.

A post-hike beer with friends back in university, coming in seeking refuge from the heat and sun, leading to a full-on supper, our hunger piqued by the beers.

An awkward quasi-double-date that became convivial and fun as the night wore on in the glow of the hearth.

I fell in love with this pub, having times like that.

Whatever you do, do not - under any circumstance - change that ambiance.

The woody, smoky, rough-around-the-edges riverside charm of a classic tavern cannot be beaten, from the foot-worn hardwood floors to those tin ceilings and pipes running along the ceiling and the memorabilia gathering dust on the walls and shelves.

That is the quintessence of your business. Do not change that.

Had an excellent time stopping here during a road trip. Great food and great drinks, we were lucky to be there during their weekly live music, best atmosphere you can get in an Irish pub this side of the pond!
