TL;DR - Not worth it. Rural liquor store, not a cidery tour/tasting-roomWe should have called ahead. We were hoping to ask some questions about their brewing nuances, sample everything they had available, and make some purchases based on what we liked best. We almost didn't experience anything, but as we sat in their parking lot putting the next destination into our GPS an employee came out of the oversized shed that passes as their retail outlet and asked if we were going to buy anything. We did end up going in, but didn't stay long. The "tasting" area is 2 stools in front of a cash register, packed into what is essentially a large residential storage shed. They only had 4 previously-opened bottles for us to try, the selection for purchase was the same as any NSLC (but with a few old-stock leftovers), and the prices were only 10%-ish cheaper than NSLC.The poor lady tasked with manning the register was super friendly at least, which was the only saving-grace throughout the experience.

So, there's a lot going on here. It's the active factory and production location for Muwin and Bulwark. When you pull in there is an 8x10 shed on the left that says retail store. That's where you'll do your tastings and such. It's a tiny space, so maybe 2-3 people, max. They appear to have a lot of varieties and you can taste any 4 for $5.50. There wasn't much structure to it and it was kind of a free for all. The person doing the pouring didn't appear to know much about the product, which also made the overall interaction pretty awkward. The cider offerings are unique and mostly good, the atmosphere kind of detracts from the great product. I would recommend taking a pass on this location and trying their ciders in other restaurants around the province.
Excellent cider abd great customer service
Very friendly staff!
Mulwin Estate wines is also Bulwark cider. The winery is a working factory, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Their products are all 100% natural, and locally sourced. Although he NSLC only sells a few of their products, they have many spectacular apple and mixed fruit ciders and wines. The factory tour may not be posh, like some of the wineries are, but the quality of their product more than makes up for that. One tour, I became a fan of cider.
I normally would recommend Mulwin wine as I’ve always been so happy with their wine especially the raspberry as it’s my absolute favourite. Every time I have had it it’s been delicious. I love it so much that my husband ordered me a case of 12 bottles to be shipped to us as part of my Christmas gift. I was so excited when it finally arrived! Unfortunately, I was heartbroken when I opened the first bottle. The wine was dark than I’ve ever seen it before and had a very strong vinegar smell, the taste was very different as well. I thought maybe it was just the bottle so I opened another and sure enough, it smells like faint raspberry pickling vinegar 😞. I had my family try it as well and no one finished a glass and it went down the sink. So so so disappointed, we paid just over $250 to have a case of vinegar delivered that we can’t even drink. When contacting the company they said they hadn’t changed the recipe and maybe it was the berries but I doubt the berries would make it that acidic that you can’t drink it. 😭 I hope they fix this issue

My husband and I are back home for a visit (we now live in Alberta). We tried the cider at Hell Bay in Liverpool, NS and we loved it. So took the 1hr 20min drive to your brewery to purchase some of your ciders and wine. Needless to say we left without purchasing anything. We rang the bell numerous times, waited over 20mins for service and no one came to serve us. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and if I could put no stars I would.
What great customet service. Ive been trying to find products for some friends and family. I reached out right away and within an hour, they faceboom messaged me with solutions.Great customer service.
