Today we bought a variety of fish and mussels. Wonderful and fresh is an understatement. I highly recommend this local business.
Best place to buy seafood in the area. Service is always exceptional. They can always package it any way you require in any quantity.
I would recommend.
Great fresh and frozen seafood
Great selection. Fresh seafood. We got cooked lobsters ( very small), a 5 lb bag of mussels, and some Alaskan King crab legs. Great service!
Delicious products, Fair price prices, And incredible helpful go out of their way to help you staff.
This will not be my last order.

Gillis offers incredibly fresh salmon, perfect for making my own sushi platter! I also picked up some thawed tuna, which paired beautifully with avocado. We tried the lobster as well, and it was just as fresh and delicious.
The prices were very reasonable, and the staff were especially kind and welcoming to kids, taking the time to explain the different seafood options. I highly recommend this place!
Great selection, service, and prices! The customer service was exceptional. We will definitely be back!
Great selection of seafood, great prices and friendly staff
Was pretty thrilled to see their Good Friday sale on frozen haddock for 69$ for 10bs so I grabbed a box this week. When you go to a fish market on the east coast, you assume you’re buying local. After all, I was buying haddock, not tilapia.
Service was positive and I asked the lady at the counter if the haddock was frozen and her response was ‘no not long at all as we sell it so quickly’……great!
Once I got home, to my disappointment I noticed the Gillis Market Label stated ‘product imported from China’. Even phoned the market and confirmed in case it was an error and their response was ‘yes it comes from China!’. Quite disappointed I bought haddock from China from a market in North Sydney after being told by staff told me it wasn’t frozen long. This is misleading and they should probably advertise its origin before you see the box. I won’t be back….
I called from Calgary to have lobsters shipped to nothren Cape Breton.
I was greeted by a lovely lady on the phone who took all my information and past it on to the owner who then made everything so easy for me, from payment to shipping.
The package arrived so well packed, we are very happy customers.
I will definitely shop here again.
