The Lobster Pound and Moore

I'm originally from North Sydney but now living elsewhere. Was in town recently and stopped by for dinner. Wow! You surpassed my expectations. The restaurant is cosy and nicely decorated and the food is excellent. Generous size portions. Loved the fish chowder and also our entrees. This place is a smaller restaurant that has a homey feel but food that rivals restaurants in Halifax. We are lucky to have such a special place in North Sydney. Thanks!

First time here. Would definitely come back. We had Lobster Wontons appetizer, Seafood Trio, lobster ravioli.

Don't attempt without a reservation. By the time you see the sign on the door your other options will be limited. Even past the tourist season. Also didn't seem that busy

We tried to come here on a Saturday night at around 17h but we were met with a sign on the door stating that the restaurant is booked for the whole evening so I recommend you make reservations if you plan on coming here on a Saturday night

The Lobster Pound and Moore servers fabulous food. From the meals to the service and the location. If you are traveling anywhere near North Sidney, Nova Scotia it’s a MUST place to dine.

Finally got to eat here, well worth the wait food was incredible and huge portions, Lois our server was polite and gave us great service. Look forward to returning here next time I’m back in cape breton. Should be on you gotta eat here.

Booked reservations the day of and they were able to get us in. Book in advance if you can, they fill up fast! Food came quickly, and was so delicious! The owner/chef came out and personally asked how everything was. Service, drinks and food were great! We had scallops/steak with the toffee pudding and crème brûlée as dessert. Could not recommend more. 10/10!

We did not have a reservation and tried our luck. Fair enough that we did not get a table. We then asked if our 5 year old could use the bathroom really quick to which the guy said „no, it’s not a public bathroom!“ are you serious? It. Is. A. Child.

Update:
We were sitting outside on the pier for another 30 mins. In that time maybe 3 people came in. So, is that really fully booked? Also, the owner and wife (?) came twice outside of their restaurant to harass us and thank us for the review in an aggressive manner. I thought you were fully booked and you still have time to talk to strangers outside? Amazing. I truly hope you washed your hands. Also it must have been more important to talk to us and threaten to call the police than to take care of your guests. Even people outside were telling us interesting stories. And also please do not comment on other people’s parenting skills. It is very normal to drink one beer outside with two people everywhere in the world. Greetings from Europeans!

Lovely little place, they got us in without a reservation (even if the sign says full, try your luck! ?) food was incredible and the people working were so sweet. 10/10

Amazing experienced. We loved every part of our time at the Lobster Pound. Server and Chef made us feel right at home, very friendly and helpful.
Food amazing! Lobster roll was so good, lobster was on point! We devoured our desert, with fresh strawberries and cream. Now on our way to Newfoundland :)

Highly recommend, food and service was excellent. Only open limited times Wednesday to Sunday 5 to 7 pm. Saturdays 12 to 7 pm. We both had the half Lobster special. Shared a strawberry lemon cheesecake for dessert. Strongly suggest making a reservation, we arrived at 6pm and were fortunate that they were able to seat us even though they were fully booked, thankfully someone finished early and didn't linger.

While visiting we were told that this restaurant served the best lobster in the Sydney area. The recommendation was spot on and we deeply enjoyed our meal - including kind offerings from the chef.
