Friendly staff, attractive, dining room, great service, and a wide selection of food and the portion sizes of very generous. What I did not like? All the seafood had cheese and I am dairy intolerant, and the vegetables have zero flavour.

Food was portions that were plentiful and reasonably priced. Atmoshpere was good as well. The server paid attention to my wifes allergies and brought out the food accordingly.

Upon entering the restaurant, we felt like we were not welcomed. The hostess was not very friendly at all, she made us feel like we were bothering her afternoon. She was also our server. They probably only had like 2 tables of customers in the middle of the afternoon when we walked in, they were not busy at all. I ordered the seafood chowder which the server said was very good. Seafood chowder came, it had more potatoes than seafood. I found 1 tiny shrimp and a few flecks of fish, and then the rest were potatoes, onion, and soup. Not only that it didn't have much seafood at all, it wasn't even good. It was bad. It tasted worse than canned seafood chowder! When the server came to check on us, she asked how our food was. I told her mine was bad, that I didn't want it anymore. She said I could order something else, but she'd still have to charge us for the bad seafood chowder. She said no one had ever complained about the seafood chowder before, like I was the very first one ever to not like their seafood chowder. She was the rudest person we had ever encountered in Nova Scotia. My husband was sweet enough to swap his with me. He ordered a lobster roll. I'd say the lobster roll was passable.

We walked in to a grumpy old lady. Scratch that. I can not call her a lady. We walked into the restaurant to be greeted by a grumpy old woman. The meal came in a reasonable amount of time. Dianne the waitress was very good. She tried to keep all tables under her care taken care of. I had surf And turf. The lobster was ok. The flavour of the steak was ok as well. It was done to perfection however the cut was inferior. It was riddled with connective tissue. My Long Island iced tea seemed to be very weak. I purchased an extra shot of both Vodka and rum to make it better. So on the whole I’d say in our experience, the food was ok. However under par for the prices of the meals.

The food was good, but not satisfied with customer service. We waited almost an hour to get our dishes. Also the employees treated us like a strangers or trespassers. No one had a smile on their faces.

The lobster tail was not fresh and the halibut also tasted frozen. We weee very disappointed with the meal, don’t know how they had such great ratings. Big difference when you taste fresh fish like in Dennis Point Café in Pubnico.

My husband and I took a little vacation for our anniversary this weekend. We went back for three meals at the Harbour restaurant. The staff were beyond hospitable- it felt like home. The food was exceptional and well priced. We will definitely be back. I wish I caught the name of our server to give her some recognition. I’m pregnant and she ensured that I was well looked after.

We had an excellent lunch with ocean views and friendly helpful staff. Then we found our car wouldn’t start and the same staff went out of their way to help us solve this problem. They found us a mechanic and an overnight place to stay with smiles and words of encouragement all the way. A truly wonderful Cheticamp experience . We will be back when next we travel here from BC. We have a wonderful feeling about Cape Breton especially due to our grand experience at this restaurant.

The best French onion soup I have ever eaten. Our entrees were both excellent. The service was atttentive but not hovering. Very good place to dine.

We tried the soup and sandwich combo on a rainy day morning and it was wholesome. The pricing was right and the view from the restaurant was amazing. Also we had multiple choices for kids’ meal.
