This place is now called the Macfarlane Lantern Restaurant. It is a family run, homemade meals and hospitality!Great space with self-serve coffee and everything you need!We were here for lunch on a Tuesday in July and every seat was occupied! The host was very nice and the food was tasty!Would most definitely return!

My soup was only warm as the server/owner stayed to chat with my lunch mate. I used the washroom and the toilet didn't flush. I guess I missed the note, on the wall, telling how to work the broken toilet. I opened the lid, trying to fix it, but was unable. When I mentioned it, to the owners, on the way out, the man grumbled at me for not reading the sign, about the broken ? in his establishment, and stomped off.Seriously, this is NOT how to treat a customer.I will NEVER go back. Also, the owners should never occupy the best table in the room. Not kosher.

Great little cafe and restaurant. Great carrot cake!

A typical small town café. The coffee tasted a bit old, but it was fine. The tuxedo cake was incredible though, I'd easily return for the cake alone. The restaurant was fairly messy when we arrived. Staff members were all friendly and helpful. I think the restaurant/Cafe could definitely make some improvements!

Very Disappointed at my visit to the Chesnutt Cafe, the service was very slow and the food was nothing to really write home about. The "kettle chips" which came with my sandwich were basically chips out of a bag, they had no signs that they were made there in the kitchen. The food was very slow at coming out as there was only 1 person in the kitchen behind making everything. What I didn't like was when the food was made in the kitchen (which you could see behind, no barriers) she put it on the front counter where the person taking the orders from customers and where they were paying. I am not a fan of having my food sitting on a main counter with other people around it good thing that they were masked by public order. Also when we did get our food, I guess they expected us to eat everything with our hands as they didn't give us any utensils so basically to eat anything besides the meal was using our hands. Would I go back to this location the answer is no......food was OK, service was poor.

Needs some signs. After standing and watching I figured out you ordered and payed at the counter. Not the best nachos but the sandwichs looked amazing

Service was poor, no personality. Seemed like they didn't want to be there. Food was mediocre. Probably should have just made something at home.

One of the few restaurants in the area offering dine in services on a rainy summer day! We enjoyed our fish cakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, and cousin cordon bleu sandwich. Lovely service and casual atmosphere.

Chili and a homemade biscuit were so yummy. Good variety of food served with homemade baked items.
