Rice was dry and tasteless, Chow mein was insanely watery, made me gag. The only thing edible was the egg roll and the fortune cookie

Both my fianceè and i left dissapointed and annoyed. There are barely any vegitarian options and whats there isnt good. We asked for vegitarian options and were led to believe the veggie soup was vegitarian. It was chicken soup essentially and my fianceè wasnt happy.
All of the food was really oily and greasy and wet. Chinese food doesnt have to be that oily. We both now have bad indegestion, bloating, and i have been having heart palpitations for the last couple hours. My fianceè doesnt get heart burn and is super healthy but i guess theres a first for everything.
The server was friendly but im not sure she really understood what we were asking for. I blame the owners for the terrible service and food. Dont bother.
Edit: oh yeah and the tap water wasnt served with ice and it smelled like rotten eggs.

Buffet was cold and we were the first people to have it, Opened at 12 was told 20 minutes until it was ready although advertized it started at 12, I had to ask to have food microwaved after putting on my plate, food was put in steamer that was not cooked and there was no warning about it. Chicken balls I think were from the night before and burnt but very cold. Very dissapointed in the food and restaraunt, would not eat there again. When leaving the staff asked how the food was and I quietly told them that it tasted okay but the fact I needed to reheat it and not all of it was cooked was not okay. Did not want to make a scence in restaurant. Wrote a message on Facebook which they read with no response.

cold food not fully cooked, had to microwave
Well that was possibly the worst food I've ever eaten. Potential edit tomorrow morning 🙈
Ordered thru Uber Eats, can't even rate it on the app 😬 so figured I may as well review it on Google.
Ordered the A Special- Egg Roll, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, Chicken Fried Rice and Beef and Broccoli
Side order of Lemon Chicken
Yikes Yikes Yikes 😬
The egg roll tasted awful.
Sweet and Sour water was more like it, so thin, not a sauce at all.
Water got sucked into the chicken balls which made them mush.
Chicken fried rice tasted like it was made Monday morning(it's Friday evening)
Beef tasted like it sat in gluey water all day and the Broccoli was the only item that I enjoyed.
Last but not least the Lemon chicken chunks, I mean... Let's be real, it was the same as the Sweet and Sour Water Balls they gave me, just with a lemon base to it.
🤢🤢🤢
I regret not checking the reviews prior to ordering, but u got me this time Kai Ping, hopefully whoever reads this review next hasn't wasted their money at this restaurant like I did 👎👎👎

Very nice ambience and good service by the staff.
But the food wasn't upto our taste. We had ordered a combo of Egg Roll, Fried Rice, Beef with Broccoli and spring roll , Beef Bulgogi and Singaporean Noodles in veg option. The Singaporean Noodles was so filled with overdose of curry masala. Tasted and looked more like an Indian Upma. Beef Bulgogi was ok-ok. Beef with broccoli was nice; but the spring roll that came with it wasn't great.

Im very disappointed with the food quality. We took take out. Korean fried chicken is the only thing edible. Chow mein is so watery. Combo everything old stuff and flavourless. Broccoli and beef in the combo is just boiled in salt water that’s it no sauce no stir fry and chicken that came in combo tasted as if it was fried days before (very tough and freezer taste is there.
Now my hubby went in search of some place to buy food for our kids. It’s 10.49 pm here.

Delicious and such friendly service! A very large portion for the price and a great atmosphere in the restaurant. We were so excited to try Hot Pot, and this did not disappoint.

Staff was super friendly and helped us with the menu. I highly recommend trying out the hot pot combos, the combo for two people is loaded with lots of veggies and meat. One of the nicest meal options I've had in a while.
When I first saw the sign saying Kaiping Restaurant, I thought it was a Cantonese-style Chinese restaurant. After we went in to order, we found that there were no Chinese characters at all on the menu, and strangely, the names of the dishes were in Cantonese Pinyin, and we ordered several dishes, all of which we had never heard of before. The taste is very strange, not unpalatable, but I can't praise it. It's thickened too much and is like a paste. The only saving grace is Wok Hay. The dishes were served on plates dedicated to gods and Buddhas, which really opened my eyes. Coupled with the fortune cookie served at the end, I can definitely conclude that this is an authentic Western-style Chinese restaurant.

My husband and I went to Kai Pings yesterday for lunch after finding out the new owner also own Omma’s Korean bbq. (Which is another amazing spot btw) We got three things off the menu to share, all of which were so delicious, very nice portions and inexpensive. In my opinion this spot has the best Chinese food on the island.
Chinese hotpot is what Sydney exactly needed! Their signature dishes and combos are good too.
