First time visiting NS in twenty years looking for a good place to eat. This place had a good rating and it certainly lives up to it. Quick, efficient, friendly service. Couldn’t decide what to eat so got the platter which was amazing and fed me for two days! Great value, great food. The owner even popped by to see how my experience was which made it feel all that more homey. Def knows how to run a good, successful business

Had ginger pork with veggies on a bun with fries. Was not told sweet potato fries was extra. Not much pork and not much veggies. 22 bucks plus 3.5 for sweet potato fries. Was swarmed by 2 others 1 a waitress and apparently 1 was the owner who with rotten teeth failed to identify himself . Both asked how things were. Very intrusive my relationship was with the order taking waitress.
And made it clear to them that I have a waitress Was told this was standard procedure. . Also had chowder was watered down and no lobster instead had cheap haddock for 16 bucks. Was not worth the price paid plus 15%hst. And 9.5 for a beer. Overpriced and undelivered.

The service staff is very attentive and friendly. Our food was really delicious. The non-alcoholic Margherita was great in terms of appearance and taste. We can recommend the restaurant. If you're in Sidney, stop by. From the patio you have a good view of the harbor and the large violin. ?

We stopped here for a bite to eat before boarding our ferry over to Newfoundland. Service was great, and location is pretty. We ordered the black pearl platter to share and the lemon cheesecake for dessert. Food on the platter was to be expected on a mostly deep fried food platter. My partner really enjoyed the mussels on the platter ( I was unable to have these due to an allergy). The cheesecake was a 5/5!

We had our best meal in the Maritimes. The seafood linguini is divine. I ate the black haddock with mango sauce which was excellent. But the service made it an unforgettable experience. Rachelle who speaks a little French, Terry who is very dynamic and funny. Well located on the waterfront. The only drawback is that it is very far from Quebec City.
Had an amazing dinner here on a recent trip to Sydney. The patio gives you an amazing view and the food was delicious. The blackened haddock was the best fish I've had all summer!

Love this little restaurant. I've been 3 times since arriving in Sydney a few weeks back (residing on a temp basis). In my opinion, the Dory has the perfect combination of good food and drinks, fair prices, and excellent service. I've had the French onion dip and the seafood pasta, and although the food is relatively simple, it always hits the spot. I had the Sea Urchin margarita my last visit which was lovely. The staff are always exceptional, service is quick, and the manager/owner is usually checking in on everyone to ensure a smooth experience. The Dory is probably my favourite spot in Sydney thus far!

Dory’s is a great local spot with an easygoing atmosphere and a killer blackened haddock. The pakora bites were also delicious. The service staff and owner were beyond friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. I’d recommend this place without a doubt.
Pro tip - if look across the water you can see the famous giant fiddle!

I have family visiting from away and one of them uses a wheel chair. After driving around Sydney for about an hour and a half, getting hungry, getting cranky and trying to find a decent place to eat that is wheel chair accessible we decided to take a chance on the Dory. We'd never been. Well. I do believe it was fate. This is probably the best dining experience we've had in this area. The food was amazing and the service was over the top!! I've got a gluten allergy and they had TONS of gluten free options! And it was wheel chair accessible ?? It was a hit with our family and after they've gone back, my wife and I will be going back!! Thanks Dory Pub! Ya'z are all Rock Stars??
