First time to check out your food was last weekend at the Cape Tormentine Music Festival. My husband and I had the fish and chips and loved them! Huge serving, hot, crispy and delicious! Highly recommended! Plus even though they were very busy the people working the trucks were great!

We hired them to cater our wedding on September 23rd they were very friendly and punctual, the food however was the kicker. The roasted chicken that we ordered was just a steamed chicken breast with 0 flavour, the same with the steaks, 100% steamed and bland with more frozen thawed steamed veggies (cauliflower). Overall it was very disappointing for what we paid and the extra 30% on top of everything we had to pay last minute. With a name like Barnyard Grill I was surprised that none of the food had any grill marks whatsoever. We would not recommend them to cater your wedding.

I ate here at the Halifax Exhibition. I have heard of this place, being local to where I live. I was shocked by the food quality. The chicken breast burger was extremely dry on a dry bun. The burger had nothing on it. I had two small packs of mayo to put onto the burger myself. The fries were not home cut! And they tasted funny. My husband had the donair poutine that didn’t even have real donair meat on it! Just some kind of spiced hamburger. With mozzarella cheese! No cheese curds. I couldn’t believe it. Farm to table is their motto. Im not sure about the accuracy in that statement. I feel terrible writing a negative review for a local company but I just felt I had to share my experience with others.

Fantastic Bacon Buster Burger, best burger I have had in a restaurant in a long time. But this place doesn't keep viable hours tried to go for a meal and they are closed. Can't keep a customer base if you are not open 9 to 5 or 10 to 6 etc. Sorry but have to give up on this spot.

food is just terrible, service poor and the food does not look like the pictures on their page. I've been in two times and both times have been bad. never again

I’ve don’t think I’ve ever actually left a negative review for an establishment in my life. I know how damaging this can be to small businesses; especially ones just starting out, however me and several family members stopped by the Barnyard Grill for brunch and respectfully, it was the worst meal I’ve ever had my life. I’ve eaten a lot of subpar food over the years - I’m very easy to please and can totally appreciate no frills, greasy spoon joints. But it was super evident by all four of our meals that the staff lacked the most basic of cooking skills. There were cold, hard pan fried potatoes, with onions cut in large rectangles that looked like they’d been boiled. Meat that was dripping with oil. even pancakes that were off white in colour, flavourless and doughy on the inside - it’s pretty hard to mess up a pancake. There was a large potato floating in my syrup container, not a big deal, I picked it out but, the carelessness with plating was just the cherry on top of the experience. There was not one element of any of our meals that was adequately prepared or served, not even the toast. I highly suspect that the positive reviews are primarily friends and family looking to support. I can appreciate this; I would do the same. But I really encourage the owners to invest in their teams’ culinary skill set. Eventually folks outside of their social circle will patron the establishment and word will spread.

Ok I had the wonderful experience of working for Tracey and Jimmy this summer and honestly I can not lie they are 100% amazing people to work for! They treat you fair and like a human! I worked some early mornings and late nights with them and honestly I loved every min of it! The heat this summer is honestly the reason why I had to leave the job! If I could handle the heat I would still be with them and loving the job! I would highly recommend them to anyone! ❤️
