Overall, we were very disappointed with both the food and the prices. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, yet when our food arrived my fries were cold and the burger was extremely soggy. I ordered the maple burger based on how enthusiastically the server recommended it, but it ended up being one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had.
My husband’s platter was just as disappointing — the meat was tough and dry like beef jerky, and the mac and cheese was grainy. It was truly one of the worst meals we’ve had in a long time. To make matters worse, my husband’s meal alone cost more than a 60-day dry-aged roast from The Bicycle Thief, which made the experience even more frustrating would’ve been worth driving to Halifax for a proper meal.

The menu claimed to have the best clubhouse in town...granted, I haven't had the rest, but I dare say they're telling the truth! It was delicious! Fries also fantastic. Wings were super meaty and excellent. My wife was very happy with her side salad (in addition to her wings). Service was great. Atmosphere was surprisingly pleasant. Bathrooms were very clean. Definitely will be going again!

went here in mid august but just got around to leaving a review now. the food was alright and the server was nice but i wasn’t a fan of the “entertainment.” there was a guy talking loudly on the microphone trying to do trivia with the customers and was mentioning prostitution and other non-family friendly things. in between that they were playing loud explicit rap music. this was on a weekday afternoon which i thought was completely ridiculous. definitely an awkward experience especially with my elderly parents and there was a couple other elderly people near us that you could tell weren’t enjoying it either. that sort of entertainment should be left for weekend nights. also the fried pepperoni and the biscuit that came with the chicken pasta was dry and gross. not sure why you would pair a biscuit with pasta anyway. should be garlic bread.

Heading towards Amherst Shore from Peggy’s Cove and decided to stop here for dinner after much debating on a place. It was busy, which we took as a good sign. It was a little loud but they also had live music going. The food was good. He had the ribs with loaded mashed potatoes and salad. I got the petit sirloin with salad and poutine. The meat was a little dry so I was glad for some gravy, not how I usually eat steak but it worked and was good. Overall our waitress was pleasant and we enjoyed our meals. Would probably come
Back if in the area again.

We had toasted almond salad she liked. The potato skins were a bit over done. Loved the bbq sauce

Quarter chicken was basically cold and didn’t taste right. Brisket tasted like overcooked chewy roast beef. Biscuit was dry. Coleslaw dressing was consistency of milk and tasted off. Beans were okay. Hardly touched my food. If you want real BBQ from a smoker, I would not go here.

If you look at the picture you can tell the ribs are way overcooked, almost to the point of rib jerky, taste was fine, the beans were good, and service was excellent, but ribs are kind of my thing and I ranked these in the lower 20% when up against other places that smoked their own meats. And I guess I might be spoiled cuz I've been to the best.

It’s pretty mid-way food. We were hoping for juicier briskets but they were dry. The mashed potatoes and the vegetables were dry and bland.

Our server, Ray, was so incredibly friendly, funny and made our experience amazing. We highly recommend and if you get Ray please tip her amazing because she is worth it! The food was delicious and the options were endless. You have to eat here! I went with the smoked Mac and cheese and brisket with potato skins, garlic bread, biscuit and salad and was stuffed.
Update: Came back again and we had Ray as our server once more, she was just as amazing as last time! Friendly, funny, and on point. I got to catch up with my aunt over some great fish sandwiches, and everything was delicious. Belly Up never disappoints!
