We couldn't find the restaurant we wanted to but both liking Chinese we we opted for the Chow family restaurant.
We started with small pancake rolls. The oil needed changing urgently.
My wife selected Chow Mein. It was basically an enormous plate of bean sprouts with a few bits of tasteless chicken. I had lemon chicken. It was OK, but the sauce was greasy and there was too much of it. Smaller portions and better quality, please.
School report- could do better!

Great authentic food! Stopped at this restaurant as we were driving through Truro. Great place to stop as food is delicious and portions are big. Highly recommend! Prices are affordable.

Do you take reservations because we called to reserve for 7 people at 5! We were told reservations are not required and came all the way here from a half an hour away only to be turned away! Terrible customer service!! when we said this to the staff at the front she said she was the one who said to just come and that she would go get a manager waited another 20 minutes and no manager! Your restaurant is a joke and your staff should be fired!!!

Some of the worst Chinese food I ever was served. My take out beef fried rice was 99% rice with a few small pieces of beef. My main dish of beef with rice noodles was flavourless and mostly been sprouts

I ordered two chicken fried rice from this restaurant, but what I got was a culinary crime. The rice was so undercooked I thought I was chewing on pebbles. As for the “chicken”? It must have been playing hide and seek because I couldn’t find any—just one lonely piece of scrambled egg sulking in the corner. Honestly, they should rename this dish “Stone Rice” because calling it fried rice is an insult to fried rice everywhere. Even if I were starving, I’d think twice before eating this again.

Atmosphere was very Authentic & Cozy. The garden centerpiece with Sun Lighting was Airy & Refreshing. The food however was Mediocre. The chicken fried rice was most disappointing containing no Veggies or Egg. Chicken Balls were good but excessive Batter (the meat is so good and would be enjoyed better with less batter). Shrimp Balls were Horrible. Ginger Beef was Flavorful but slightly Mushy (could use a bit more crispiness and they would be Absolute Perfection). Egg rolls were Bleh (wish they had sprouts to add some more crunch as well and accentuate the mushy inside concoction). Service was Above Par. Oh... Virgin Shirley Temple was AMAZING. I would return just for more of them.

Going here for years food is excellent staff friendly courteous food is brought up hot fresh and surprisingly quick even when they’re busy. These photos were taken October 13, 2024. They had just opened up. Food was hot. Fresh delicious lady was super nice. Checked multiple times to make sure we were good and didn’t need anything else definitely recommend going there. I have had the buffet there as well. It wasn’t open that day. But very satisfied with this place will be back.

They have beautiful and quirky backgrounds, especially when it comes to clicking pictures. The food and beverages are click-worthy. If you're looking for an Instagram-aesthetic place, do go here. The staff were super friendly and courteous to suggest a few dishes and drinks. Super fresh and totally worth it.

Ordered out ... rice, chicken balls and veggies all had a funny taste. Tasted like everything had been nuked in the microwave. Everything was cold ... we live about a one minute drive away.

Am not planning to return anytime soon.

Yuk.
