We were heading from Cape Breton to Halifax Easter Sunday looking for somewhere to eat. Came across this little gem! Very friendly lady and really great food! I'm celiac and they have plenty of choices for gluten and dairy free. We will be back! The honey garlic spare ribs were outstanding!

Finding the perfect restaurant for a certain food is always challenging. With this restaurant it was clean and service was fast. The egg rolls were perfect. The almond chicken soo guy was good. The chicken balls were good. The spare ribs were good. The moo goo guy pan was good but I'd probably try different rice. It wasn't the best I've had. You should be aware the restaurant only takes cash or debit.

Ordered to go. Chicken chow mein combo, and I asked for a spicy chicken combo. Woman asked what kind of spicy I liked. Szechuan I said & was told that could be done. What she failed to mention was that I was going to be charged $5 more for that! She only told me when I pointed out that my order had been $$14.99, not $19.99! Had every other place not been closing or closed, I would have said to keep it. Got the food home & it was probably the worst we ever have had. The egg rolls were mostly empty and flat. My husbands chow mein looked & tasted like it came from a can. The Szechuan was tiny portions with mostly vegetables and very little chicken. We threw most of both orders out & picked up Subs from Subway. Had the food at least been good…. ** We also ordered fried wontons. 12 for $6.99. They were NOT fried wontons! They were just fried wonton wrappers with no filling at all. Nothing in them whatsoever.

We were passing by from Cape Breton to Ottawa. Decided to stop for dinner. The owner is a nice lady. Many people were taking out, but there weren't many people inside which made it a nice atmosphere. Food is very good. I took combo 9 for I wanted to try many dishes. My wife took another combo that was just enough. All small portions represented were very good hot and fresh. Rice was astounding. Beans were hot and crunchy. Ribs are better than in other places. They were small and not fatty. Sour chicken is great. Pity we stay only for a night. Say the truth I also wanted to check another Chinese food place. Definitely recommend Gu place. Nice. What else? Spring roll is interesting. It's with minced meat I guess.
