Couldn't resist visiting this restaurant when we spotted it on a short visit to Truro. Turned out to be an absolute find and such a fun place to eat. The food was delicious and the pie and mash some of the best we've had. The Bakewell tart was the real deal only missing the very British custard to go with it - though the ice cream was a very acceptable substitute. The place was cute and cosy and full of local people, it's clearly very popular. Our server was delightful and very thoughtful (I forgot to ask her name but she had made the Bakewell tart) and the whole lunch experience made our day. Oh and we thought it was amazingly good value!

Such a wonderful place for real British food! There's always a full English breakfast and a delicious curry, and the staff are such lovely people. They also can host evening events for groups!!

GPG does a great breakfast and their flapjacks are great. This was a steak and cheddar pie.

Save your airfare!! if you want a great English breakfast stop here. During the summer, they even have a Plowman’s Lunch! My breakfast was so large I had them divided it in two before I started eating to force me from eating the entire breakfast. They put it in a to go container and it made a great dinner that evening.

Had an enjoyable meal on the weekend. Fish cakes and eggs: fish cakes were moist & flavorful and all was gluten friendly (gluten intolerant). Great service, as always. Highly recommend GBG!❤️

Good breakfast, a little expensive, but given the area, it's not surprising.
The fried potatoes are very good, as is the tea.
The welcome is warm, the service impeccable.

Free parking at the back of the cafe.
This café is located in a classic house, which makes it interesting due to its many rooms: the architecture has been preserved.

Parking: At the back of the building.

As a Brit currently travelling in Canada, it was great to visit this little taste of home. The food was excellent and the service too. They had a few British meals on offer such as a Full English Breakfast with black pudding, and a curry too. They also sold some English products such as Branston Pickle, Tizer, and Irn-Bru.
