Had an enjoyable meal on the weekend. Fish cakes and eggs: fish cakes were moist & flavorful and all was gluten friendly (gluten intolerant). Great service, as always. Highly recommend GBG!❤️
I love eating here! Delicious menu, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. I love putting mushy peas on my toast!

Good breakfast, a little expensive, but given the area, it's not surprising.
The fried potatoes are very good, as is the tea.
The welcome is warm, the service impeccable.
Free parking at the back of the cafe.
This café is located in a classic house, which makes it interesting due to its many rooms: the architecture has been preserved.
Parking: At the back of the building.

Great spot for amazing food, atmosphere and service! We’ll be back! Fish cakes were Devine! ❤️
As a Brit currently travelling in Canada, it was great to visit this little taste of home. The food was excellent and the service too. They had a few British meals on offer such as a Full English Breakfast with black pudding, and a curry too. They also sold some English products such as Branston Pickle, Tizer, and Irn-Bru.

A very busy weekend for me. I was out for a stroll with my dog as GBG is in my neighborhood. I could smell a delicious delightful scent wafting thru the trees. The rear entrance led me to shaded picnic tables where I found a spot for Finnigan. I went in to wash my hands. I chose to order while inside as I knew exactly what I wanted, the Meat Omlette, yum! I went out to a cold dish of water laid at Finn’s feet. I had a lovely chat with Jane, the owner. Khloe was at my picnic table in a few short minutes with my piping hot meal. She is a gem, so sweet and polite, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!
What a lovely time Finn and I had in the shade with the rustling trees and breeze as we ate (lots of meats to be shared with Finn!). If you know, you know about GBG. If you haven’t been and are in Truro or passing thru, you must stop into this absolute jewel of a family run restaurant

Great breakfast with fish cakes. Super tasty, not too salty, everything looks and taste homemade.
Nice decor, good service. Only negative point is it was smelling cigarette when we enter the restaurant and in the washrooms.
Vegetarian options: Many.

While traveling on holiday, we stopped in at this charming cafe. Turns out that this was hands down our favorite meal of our nearly two week stay in Nova Scotia. Only place we could find a proper cuppa the whole holiday. Best Full English breakfast I've encountered this side of the Pond. Cornish Pasty was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was cute and cozy. Very friendly and helpful waiter who helped us with food allergy questions. We would absolutely come back next time we visit Nova Scotia. Just wishing I had ordered one of their tasty looking meat pies for the road. 5 Stars out of 5.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast last week before we did Shubie River Wranglers tidal bore rafting. My husband had a delicious omelet and I had the pancakes and bacon. Today we stopped again, this time for lunch, on our way from Lunenburg to Cape Breton. My husband had the full house salad with chicken and I had a chicken salad sandwich with home fries. Both times we also did take out for their meat pies and desserts. We love everything about this lovely restaurant. Service and food are top notch. My husband has a gluten allergy and the menu was very accommodating for him. Make sure to stop by if you are in Truro!
