We went to Olive and Vine to celebrate our 41st Wedding Anniversary and our experience there took away from our celebration. We had been there before and had a positive experience but this time it was nothing like our previous visits. First, our table was tight and we kept getting bumped by the people at the table next to us. Our server seemed to be annoyed by any request for information about the drink/wine menu and she had no knowledge of how to present, open or serve a bottle of wine. The wine bottle was filthy dirty and the server attempted to push the cork back into the bottle, not acceptable. My spouse and I both ordered steak and I had requested mine rare and it was quite over cooked and definitely closer to medium well. I did not enjoy my steak and I had been looking forward to it. My spouses steak was cooked properly but it was so full of fat that he was still hungry at the end of eating a 10 ounce steak. I had ordered mushrooms and onions at a cost of $3 for each and I only had 3 pieces of mushroom and about a tsp of onions, total rip off. Our bill at the end of our night was $287 and I would expect better for that price tag....The only positive about the experience was the hostess who was super friendly and she had a wonderful sense of humour. Definitely, would not recommend and it looks like we are left with no choice but to go to New Glasgow or Halifax if we want quality food and service.

Our server was excellent! The ambiance was exactly what we asked for - a spot where we could talk and not be disturbed. The food was a bit bland but the overall experience made up for it. Overall I would recommend and definitely will be back to try it again

The service and atmosphere were lovely. The half rack of ribs had clearly been sitting a while based on the the dull film over the sauce, plus they were incredibly dry. The blackened haddock, although very generous portions, was rather mushy, seeming more poached than fried. We couldn't get a fork through the carrots that were on the side. The flavors were there in both dishes though, it was just the attention to detail and quality that caused the experience to be lacking. Not what we expected for the price point.

I must say we weren’t expecting such an amazing atmosphere when we walked into this restaurant! But I must say it was fantastic! Our waitress was the sweetest most generous person we’ve encountered at a restaurant working . Very pleasant and knowledgeable! The food was incredible! We had the Mac and cheese and it was so delicious! Then the steak my husband had and I had the salmon! Phenomenal! All around phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back for date night next time!

What a great restaurant. The food was wonderful and plentiful. The portions are very large. I had the chorizo ravioli and it was amazing. The largest ravioli I've ever seen. My daughter had the Mac and cheese. Both meals were really good. We also had the artichoke dip to start and that was yummy too. Prices are very reasonable for the amazing quality of food. Presentation and ambience was also really nice.

This was my second time eating at Olive & Vine and it did not disappoint. Great food. Ordered the salmon and it was perfectly seasoned, the skin had a great crunch to it and again. Seasoned perfectly. The coconut rice was perfect, as were the roasted veggies. A meal I'm still thinking about. My partner ordered a steak and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection also. Great chef there who absolutely has a love for making great food. We will definitely go back to Olive & Vine. Can't wait. Well done chef. Well done!

Great little restaurant in Truro. The service was excellent. I ordered the ribs and the homemade fries. Delicious 😋. My cousin ordered homemade pasta which she loved.
Waiting exactly 1hour and 15 minutes for a drink. With a reservation. Absolutely terrible service and acknowledgement that the wait times and terrible service. Would never come back. Good come 2 hours after arriving.

With a reservation the only place they would seat us at 5:30 in an almost empty room was in front of the speaker for the music. We asked to be seated away from the speaker (husband wears hearing aids), but they would not. Two of our 3 meals were wonderful but the third (a duplicate of the seafood pasta) was not the same - dry & with very little seafood where the other had lots of seafood & sauce. We couldn't get the attention of our server, even when ready to leave. Good food but very poor service.
