Brier Island Lodge Reviews
Disappointed in my recent stay August 31, 2023. Have stayed here past years and had better experiences. For $199 a night plus taxes etc. had room with no view of harbour, no tv, no fridge, no coffee maker & not the cleanest. Bed was old but comfortable enough for sleeping. Hot shower. Quiet. Restaurant had a limited menu. $20 for basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 1 sausage patty, hash browns & toast. No Eggs Benny on menu. Little pots of homemade jam and extras...read full review
We really enjoyed our stay at Brier Island Lodge last year. Everything was all we hoped for and not the least great meals in the dining room which included a traditional meal on Thanksgiving!! Love Brier Island!
The accommodations and staff were excellent. Only complaint would be lack of pressure for showers but otherwise no complaints. Very beautiful and spacious rooms and the staff are well knowledged in recommendations of trails.

Brier Island Lodge offers a mixed experience that shows great potential. The restaurant boasts a wonderful view, and while some meals can be mediocre, many dishes, like the poached lobster and scallop dinner, stand out as fresh and well-presented. Guests have enjoyed great fish and chips and a very good hamburger, although the fish chowder has received some criticism for being mostly potatoes and watery. The lodge provides clean and comfortable rooms with unique amenities, such as a fan over the door. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the kind and helpful service at both the front desk and restaurant, although some have noted that the restaurant service can be slow.
Guests have noted the opportunity for a 'bucket list' whale-watching trip, adding value to the visit. The lodge also offers access to nature trails, including a 0.75-mile path to Seal Cove and a gravel road to the Great Passage Light House. Overall, Brier Island Lodge combines a pleasant dining experience with unique amenities, making it a worthwhile destination and a convenient stopover for those heading out on whale tours.
