My best friend’s wedding was held here, with the ceremony on a whale-watching boat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. What a unique experience. One star docked for service because I found the restaurant service to be slow, but they are very kind and helpful people!
Wonderful spot for lunch while waiting for whale watching and touring the island. Great fish and chips, and the hamburger was very good. Sorry to say the fish chowder was not good. Mostly potatoes, very little fish and watery skim milk tasting. Hopefully they will improve that.
We stayed one night at Brier Island Lodge before our early-morning whale watch, and it was exactly what we hoped for—quiet, simple, and restful. The lodge made a perfect base: easy check-in, a handy restaurant to grab a bite, and a few walking trails nearby for a quick stretch and fresh air. It felt calm and unrushed, which was ideal before an early start on the water. If you’re heading out with the whale tours, this is a convenient and comfortable stopover that lets you wake up close to the action.
Our particular room had a floor covered in dirt, toothpaste spit in the sink, crap splattered on the wall
Great view and quiet, it so wonderful.
Rooms are adequate, staff is friendly. Lodge has three buildings to stay in. One is attached to the main lobby and restaurant, 2 other buildings on the property are next to the main building. Restaurant on site for breakfast lunch and dinner ins convenient but breakfast is the weak link there.
No AC or TV in rooms of two of the buildings, the newest building has AC and some TVs. All rooms with no AC have fans and windows that open.
Very convenient location if you have an early morning or evening whale watching cruise. Have stayed a couple times there and will probably stay again.
Great location. Marcus, the restaurant manager, is a world class host and made us welcome. We ate all our meals there for 2 days and all were excellent. Brier Island Whale tour was very good.
Amazing place
Great location, rooms fit all my needs. Staff was friendly and informative. Best view on the island! Free wifi, onsite restaurant, souvenirs, community room with games and cool whale bones and information.
Comfortable beds, great shower.
We had a fantastic stay here in their Queen suite with separate living room area and balcony on their 2nd floor. Nice room with comfy beds and lovely view from the balcony. Only small items to mention about the room was there was no place to really hang towels after a shower (simple fix with an over the bathroom door hanger rack so no biggie) and unfortunately we ran out of hot water when I took a shower at 7:30am so had to finish the last few mins in freezing cold water! However, small inconvenience majorly outweighed by just how nice of a place it is with a nice common room in the lobby with a piano, couches and some tables with board games. I also reviewed their attached Grandview Restaurant separately which was amazing. We will absolutely stay here again on a future road trip!
The best meal we had on our two week vacation out east. The trip across the ferry was worth it! A local recommend us and we were not disappointed. Incredible food, great service, amazing views and the desserts were out of this world. All while being reasonably priced. We will be back!
We decided to take a drive and try the restaurant. Was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered.
The Lodge accommodations, restaurant, and staff were all wonderful!
The room was comfortable, clean, and well decorated. The view from the balcony was beautiful, especially for sunrise with a cup of coffee.
The restaurant was delicious (dinner with drinks, and breakfast) and the staff very welcoming and friendly. The strawberries and veggies fresh from the garden were extra tasty!
The location is great - overlooking the water, hiking trails nearby, and a quick drive to whale watching tours and more.
We are already planning to return!
Wonderful peaceful stay, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Great food and drinks right on the property. We visited just a few weeks ago and are already planning a repeat visit again this summer.
The location was fantastic, with great views of the bay up on the hill with ample parking. The room we had was spacious and comfortable which was just what you can see from reviews and pictures. What you can’t get from them is the truly tranquil environment that this property brings, so much so we extended and extra night (doable in off season, not likely to be available in the heart of the season).
The staff from the moment we go there were so welcoming, sharing some of the history of the island and details of the special decor that accompanied the check in.
Then came the restaurant staff and food, these exceeded expectations, the meals were prepared with homegrown ingredients where possible and the homemade haskap sundae was so good you had to save room for it the next time. Alongside this was great service and friendly conversation from all of those who helped us. George was kind to spend a few minutes with us checking in and ensuring our stay was going well, sharing he recently took over as GM and some of the plans he has for the season.
We also can’t forget to mention the sweet surprises of Ella and Radar, and one other, 3 dogs that we met on the property that were all so friendly and happy to bask in any attention shared their way.
We absolutely recommend this property, and this island and when we return, will look to stay again.
