This place has a lot of potential. The view from the restaurant is wonderful. The food was very good. It was clean. We only went to the restaurant don't know about the lodging. When you get off the ferry turn right it will take you directly there.

My family stayed here for a couple days around Labor Day weekend. Our room was modest but adequate, quiet, clean, and comfortable- especially the bed! Internet was great. We were fine with there being no other modern amenities like TV. We came here for whales and nature anyways. The front desk and restaurant service were excellent. The restaurant menu was limited and we mostly ate elsewhere. What we had was good. Our 4 year old had a sundae one evening that was amazing!
Walkability: Recommend taking the 0.75 mile trail through fields and forest out to Seal Cove. It’s begins next to the front desk and restaurant. It’s a 0.9 mile walk along the gravel road up to the Great Passage Light House and some more coastal trail just a mile north of the Lodge.

Great 3+ star room with a 4+ star view! The lodge has lots of informative posters and knick knacks and the food was the best I've ever had. Poached lobster! Sooo good.
Noteworthy details: They will go the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable and taken care of. We were late getting to the ferry so the restaurant would have been closed when we arrived. We called to tell them and they pre-made our dinners and served them to us after hours!

We really loved this place. Nice game room. Great owner. Super food. And a special little island.
Rooms: Very nice room. Comfortable bed.
Nearby activities: Bird and whale watching were both great
Walkability: Wonderful hiking trails and you can walk everywhere on the island.
Food and drinks: Best part was the really fantastic dinners and wonderful and affordable wines.

The island, the Lodge and the people were second to none. Thanks so much.
Noteworthy details: The Lobster Mac and Cheese was oh so good. We highly recommend the Grand View Restaurant.

Booked in March for mid August stay. Ended up in a room that had a great view of the propane tanks vs the ocean or lighthouse view as advertised. Staying in Digby next time we come whale watching!

The lodge is clean and very basic. It is a bit of a relic with its decor, but it was clean. The rooms are tight but slept the two of us well. The bathroom is dated as is the rest of the room. The Wi-Fi is nearly nonexistent so download anything you need before you get there as the signal is also poor. It should be noted that we had two beautiful days on the island and the signal was still poor I can only imagine how it would be on a day with inclement weather. The restaurant in the lodge is mediocre at best, over priced for the small portions and quality of food. I am not a big eater and left the table hungry both nights

I am flumoxed at the reviews complaining about this hotel. It's a tourist area - you knew. There's no TV ... grow up!
The rooms are well sized. Quiet. And we'll maintained. I was particularly fond of the bathroom, which is very clean. Well stocked and spacious. The beds were comfortable, and there was a mini fridge and coffee maker.
This hotel is minutes from the whale watching sites.
It's not as hard as it seems to get to Brier Island. I recommend coming out and enjoying the quiet.
I do wish I could have tried the food.

Wonderful stay at the start of the season. We were the only guests. Great very big room with balcony and massive bed. Freshly refurbished. Restaurant was best experience we had in Nova

Unfortunately, this lodge is long past its best days. The facility, which is beautiful in itself, is unfortunately getting old. Everything seems a bit old and musty for the prices quoted. The unique location is exploited here - at least in the simple and medium room categories. However, the cuisine and service in the attached restaurant deserve praise. That's another reason why we enjoyed our stay. The island and the location of the lodge are just too beautiful….
