16 dollars for a cup of choweer and 24 dollars for a bowl....give me a break....
The staff at Nani’s Esthetics enjoyed the renowned chowder at Charlene’s Family Restaurant this morning, and it truly lived up to its reputation! The Pasta Penne and Stir Fry also received high praise. The chef, Mohit, delivered exceptional cooking, earning a solid five-star rating from us!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our server, Deanna, was incredibly friendly and provided prompt service. We highly recommend this place! Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a delightful lunch, or a satisfying dinner, Charlene’s Family Restaurant has something to offer for every palate. The cozy atmosphere not to mention super clean bathroom, combined with the delicious food and excellent service, makes it a perfect spot for family gatherings, catching up with friends, or even enjoying a quiet meal alone. Be sure to save room for dessert; their homemade pies and sweets are sooo good and a must-try! We will definitely return with even more friends!
We went here tonight for supper. We received the menus then waited 15 minutes for them to take our order. We got our app first and still hadn’t received our water. When we finished our app we then got our water then waited for main meal. My hot turkey sandwich literally had minimal turkey on it,very minimal, fries weren’t cooked enough for both our meals and ingredients on club sandwich were scarce. Very disappointed. Will not return.

We bookmarked this restaurant before our family trip to Cape Breton, and I had the best chowder of my life here. I loved the cozy atmosphere, with a small lamp on each table, and the spacious layout that kept conversations from other tables from being disruptive. It perfectly matched my vision of a quaint, family-owned restaurant on the East Coast, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

I never liked seafood chowder.. I tried it there ( tried everything on menu) and got addicted... its the best seafood chowder I've ever had.. and you can get litres of it to go !! It's like mom's home cooking, friendly staff.. amazing food. And it's always busy.. so thst should tell you sometime.. worth the wait if there is a wait..
Parking: Can be sort of a pain if super busy, but then just park on the road or like a 2 min walk maybe from entrance... but ive only had that issue once ever.. and have been there more times than j can remmeber ( it's a hour drive each way, and sometimes I go just to eat here...)
Wheelchair accessibility: No steps or anything im like 70% sure you'd be able to get in with no issues. I've just not really noticed tbh..

We stopped here on our way to Baddeck. There was a line and we had to wait - sign of good food. We had the east coast breakfast and upgraded the cup of chowder to the bowl. It was all delicious with LOTS of fish.

We haven't had one average or worse chowder in our past two weeks of vacation in NS, but Charlene's Chowder, which my wife had, was equalled by NONE. My breakfast was also very good.
